Newbie Musician makes songs to improve

How would you feel about working with an existing melody to make a variant? I'm looking to make a fangame of an existing franchise, and it's important that the opening notes of the franchise's theme be recognizable.

Really depends on what you are asking for. I would like to hear the melody first and then answer your question, if I can do it or not.

Hello Scroll_up. All I can say is that I like a couple of your compositions. In particular being "Escape" and "Despair".

All I can say is that you have a great potential and you should seek to improve your compositions by practicing on different styles and outputting more pieces!

Just curious by the way. Are you still up in joining a team or outputting pieces for VN developing groups?

Thanks for the advice and the compliment regarding my music. I'm always experimenting with new music styles, but I only upload those which seem to sound good to me. I do not have any plans to join a VN group yet(I did in the past, but it didnt end well...).
A VN group would have to convince me about their project and show that they are making progress. I hope that answers your question.

Hey Scroll_Up, I left some comments on a couple of your songs over on SoundCloud, but I think for just starting out, you're doing pretty well as far as composition is concerned and that's going to give you a HUGE head start in improving. As others have stated, just work on some more of the technical things such as mixing and whatnot and you'll do just fine. Welcome to LSF.

Hey, thanks ViRiX Dreamcore! I do actually work on that kind of things, sadly though I have a really weak laptop. So I'm kinda limited, since I need to keep things simple and be really careful with effects, eqs and whatnot. So yeah.
