Re: Visual Novel Making (VNClub recruitment)
Welcome to the forum :>.
I suggest you read the "Suggestions for Recruiters" topic sticked at the top of the recruitment section. Checking out past recruitment topics is a good idea too. Seeing what other people have done to recruit people and seeing how the forum reacted to it is a helpful way to see what works and what doesn't. I'm just saying this because being vague is one of the most self-sabotaging things you can do when looking for someone to join your project.
Here are some questions you should really answer before asking someone to join a project: Is it a paid position? How many backgrounds/variations do you need? Is there a particular style you want? What type of backgrounds will the artist be drawing (you know school setting, fantasy land, whatever)? Do they have to complete the work in a certain time frame? What has already been done for the game? Are there any type of art or writing samples you could show (if not you should really wait before recruiting, unless of course you are paying for the services)? What is the genre? What is the plot synopsis? Would joining require a long-term commitment or will the game be finished relatively soon? Is there a website or forum topic about the game you can link to? Is it a commercial game or will it be free to play? And I'm sure I'm forgetting things but those questions are a good starting place.
Anyways background artists are especially hard to find so the more details you include about the job and the more info you add about your game the better.
I wish you good luck on your project :].

I'm guessing the producers are targeting their biggest markets (USA, J) - and their home market.sil3nt600 wrote:Czech? Why czech exactly?

The #renpy IRC channel is a great place to chat with other devs. Due to the nature of IRC and timezone differences, people probably won't reply right away.

For more info, please contact me on email, I hope you understand.
And as Taleweaver said, we want to target to biggest markets, and our home market, because in Czech Republic is only a small number of visual novels.

I'm sorry, but personally I don't. Would you do me the favor and spell it out for me, just this once? I hope nothing illegal is involved that you've got to hush it up like this.Akimi wrote:For more info, please contact me on email, I hope you understand.

Re: Visual Novel Making (VNClub recruitment)
If you want to attract people, you need to make information easier to find. Not expect them to chase you for information.
Giving the title of a game and where it's planned to be distributed is not any more helpful than having a blank page.
I hope you'll be marketing your game with more effort than you are using now.

No one will unless you tell them.Akimi wrote:For more info, please contact me on email, I hope you understand.
I have a theory on why you're so reluctant to share your project details with us: "If I publicly give away what our game is about, people are going to steal the idea." Either that, or: "If I spoil the surprise now and tell people what it is about, no one's going to play it once it's out."
This isn't how this community works, though, as a single look into our WiP and Ideas forums can tell you. We're usually very open about the games we produce, especially if we're trying to recruit help. Two postings of two lines each won't gain you the interest you are looking for, and the fact that you apparently have no intention of using this forum for anything else than making people write you e-mails makes you look suspicious. What if you're just data hunters in search for more private e-mail addresses to send spam mail to?
Please elaborate on your project a little more.
