Nope, you won't have to voice any H scenes.

Requesting voice actors willing to work for free is one thing, but specifying that only voice actors with a good bit of experience will have any sort of commissioning possibility is a bit unfair. Whether or not they have experience, they're clearly talented enough for your liking if you hire them. Thus, even the time of amateurs should have value.

To reiterate, though, if you weren't paying ANYONE or if everyone just had the option of volunteering, that'd be completely different.

Compensation for VAs can vary wildly depending on level of fame and experience in the industry. It is not feasible to pay everyone thousands of dollars to voice 60 lines because we hired a top tier celebrity VA for one role. (Nor would it be good for the project to forgo hiring celebrities to pay everyone the same amount.)

Note though, I'm not the voice acting director, so I just control the overall studio expenses, not the specific fees. VAs will be working with our voice acting director, not me.

I agree that it's expected for those with experience to receive larger compensation. I merely find it unfair to offer commission to experienced VAs and nothing to everyone else. It strikes me as invalidating the effort put in by those without "substantial" experience.

If that's not what was meant, then I retract my statements. However, it might be worth considering rewording that section of your casting call.

Hello all,

Love in Space is no longer seeking character artists.

The explanation of what happened: The in house character artist (Melonbunny) told me that she doesn't know how to draw old people because she had never drawn any old people before. I then posted the ad seeking another character artist. Melonbunny then decided to draw one of the old characters just to see how it turns out. It turns out she apparently had a hidden talent for drawing old people or something, because I thought the characters looked fit for the game. So since Melobunny apparantly had this undiscovered talent all this time, and because we'd avoid any style inconsistencies if we just had one artist, I decided to just hire her for the additional character art as well.

We apologize for the change in position, and we sincerely thank all applicants. We hope that you guys get many more commissions from other groups and look forward to any future contracting.

An interesting phenomenon, and something I think I've experienced myself. Things that you've never drawn before can look very fresh because you don't settle into your normal routine; you use your reference material to the fullest by drawing what you see rather than what you think you know.

A good artist can draw just about anything well given the right reference. And seeing that sketch of the old guy on Twitter, I think Sunrider's character artist has that kind of adaptive skill. It leans more on the realism side than the rest of the cast we've seen so far, but not outrageously so.

I'm a male so obviously I can't (and won't XD) audition, but I just wanted to tell you that this game looks quite professional. Really looking forward to it.

Excuse me, I was wondering when the voice acting auditions were going to end? I think I might have over compressed my first set of auditions, and I'd like to re-record them, but unfortunately, I've gotten a bit sick since then, and I'd like to be at my ultimate level of power before trying again.
