[On Hold]Team members for developing an educational math RPG

Contradiction!!!

I am looking to work with
  • 2D game graphic artist(s): both CG and traditional art
  • A writer
  • Additional Python coder(s)
to create an educational RPG that teaches middle-high school geometry. Ideally, we should form a stable team that continues to create similar educational games.

Inspired by Phoenix Wright series and Umineko no Naku Koro ni, our goal will be to make proving and using theorems into an epic game that happens to be educational. Instead of trying to coat math with silly minigames, we will gamify math itself and tell a compelling story. If done correctly, I believe that we can revolutionize math/science education.

As for me, I am an MIT CS student who will do some writing and coding.

==Work Estimate==
* Script: ~18 chapters, each ~3000 words. I will definitely contribute to most of writing, especially the math bits, which I am responsible for.
* Character Art: Other than the mostly faceless protagonist, there are only 2 main characters planned, each needing sprites with ~7 variations. There are also some generic NPC's to show, but NPC art can probably be recycled.
* Background Art: This may be more demanding, not by quantity but by quality and skills needed. As the game progresses, the "dimension" of the game will gradually find order from chaos. I am looking for CG art (like this).
* Coding: I am currently in favour of using Ren'Py/PyGame, but other options like Lua are open.

I plan to get at least the beta done by November, 2014.

==Current Status==
I have a rough design document, the geometry curriculum to be taught, and some writing done. The project is still at its infancy, but I believe I have enough funding to make it work.

==Et cetera==
This is definitely a collaboration, and I am open to others' input on the design. Once you are on the team, you will have a say in the game's direction. If the team has good synergy, we can definitely develop more similar games that teach other topics in math as a startup.

As a collaboration, the revenue will be shared, when the game goes commercial.

I love the sound of the project, unfortunately in a few too many projects at the moment to be able to help but i look forward to seeing what comes of this. Will apply (if still open) when i have finished a few of my current projects

When you say variations, are you talking hair, clothes, poses, expressions, colours?

So you need someone to assist with writing? Especially involving math elements? May I ask what type of math this is? Math's my best subject so I'd love to help out :) Email sent your way!

Poses and expressions exclusively

Middle-high school level geometry with proofs, theorems, and applications of theorems.
Although understanding math well would be nice, it's not a must. I will be working on all the math content; I just need a good writer who can flesh out the general plot I have in mind.
