celectis: I'm glad you like the concepts :) , but I'd rather want to have an opportunity to meet a good artist interested in collaboration. It seems my sister isn't interested in working on Impulse anymore, so if I won't be able to find anyone, the project will propably be stalled, at least to the point when I'll be able to draw at least as good and with decent pace to work on it alone, not to mention the worst case, when it might be dropped and all the various other circumstances are likely to foretell for this scenario to come true. Eitherway, I don't want this to die and throughout all these years I've gained enough experience, both working on this and other projects as well as with other people and from watching them doing the same I already know how to struggle to make this thing come true. I only need someone willing to join me, not help because I'd don't want just to finish it and disappear after that. And as I'd became a part of this community, the best choice would be obviously to find someone interested right from here.

As I said before, I'm willing to give a lot of freedom. Now, it's just for fun and experience - it's the best way for future indies to start. I've got my own, proffesional hosting space, I have an idea to form a circle, set up a site, give other people a place to put portfolios of their work, be it anyone - an artist, writer, programmer, hold our project devlogs as well as finished games. And who knows... Maybe we will be able to go pro like that in the future? I have some experience in game developement, I've worked on few tiny projects back in the old days and I was always interested in game developing and art. That's my dream and propably, I'm not the only one. This opportunity is directed towards such people.

Impulse isn't the only one project, that I have somewhat decently developed to some extent. I've got few other projects, each one different. I'd be glad to work on the Impulse but if someone has a particular taste (in eg. doesn't like sci-fi that much), I'm willing to change the subject and go with another one. I've got a murder/mystery steampunk thriller (not Sora no Hateshinai - concepts HERE), about an inventor who creates living dolls, called automatons and his most perfect creation - Elda, and their relationship. I've got Whiteness, which I'd love to develop in the first place (my dream project, after all! concepts HERE), which is to some extent - a generic school life story, but with a bit of fantasy and set in the same world as Impulse (though it's a spin-off), The Dusk of Whispering Fields - (as far, the most ambitious project) a dark themed fairlytale-esque psychologic thriller/horror based upon polish folklore (some of concepts - they may not be safe for work - HERE, along with some sort of story premise HERE) or Afterlight, which was mainly an idea for a action-packed exploration based adventure platformer taking place in a some kind of bizzare, almost Andersen-storywise, lucid dreamworld, but lately I feel it would be a great thing for an original visual novel (some of concept art, HERE), and few other smaller projects. As you can see, I'm quite productive and I'll be happy to work on any of these; It don't mind, as long as I'll be finally able to start the work and finish something from beggining to the end. I only need someone reliable to help me with this, and I won't mind either, if it will be more than one person :) I'm also willing to change these concepts and everything which was so far created (mostly the scripts and everything what was written, although reliably not to much), or shorten them so there will be a higher chance to finish it in a robust ammount of time.

Let me get this straight.
You are looking for an awesome artist,
who isn't a professional artist,
but is a mature adult,
and has lots of money,
and time,
and is very bored,
and isn't very creative,
and likes to copy work of others for fun,
and is really good at it,
and is very altruistic,
and will happily do other people's stuff rather than his own stuff

Good luck.
I'm sure you'll find one sooner or later.

:)
The project looks pretty nice.

Hmm, you've got a lot of lovely concepts for your games already. It's a shame the original artist lost the drive to complete these projects with you. I can see that you're very serious with your projects...I wish I could help but there's so much I've already committed myself to that I know I wont have time for any other projects for awhile. XD I'm sure someone out there shares your vision, you just need to post around to find them. : > DA is a great place to look around though and other art communities. Try MangaBullet too?

I thought that impossible once upon a time, too. Then LinWest popped up and helped my project. They're out there, they just need to like your project first. LinWest's reasoning was that she wanted to advertise her art/collab with something she knew would be released. She told me that it's not exactly a one-way street ... though I'm still forever in her debt. ^^;

Yeah, you're propably right -3-. Is it that obvious for it? Damn... Well to be honest, I already know that posting such things in the WIP section won't help me that much anyway. And while other (such as Samu-Kun's Homeward thread) were posted in different parts of the forum, that are more likely to be called 'serious', there's a clear statement it's purely for to accquire some critics and possible improvements, while I'm just recruiting, so I'm doomed to remain with my own topic here. Not that I complain or anything, I'm still hoping to raise at least a bit of interest and as I said, I'm looking to work with someone in the future, not now. I'm still writing and reediting the script for Impulse and it will propably take some time before I finish and I don't see any particular reasons to rush up the development of this novel.

Propably... I'm really aiming a bit to high, but to be honest - I used to know many different artists with different skills. I don't want to insult anyone - don't get me wrong, but what we all regard here as a high/decent quality art is in reality very low within overall standards. That is, we have a lowered view on that. Still, I adore every single aspiring artist here - that's the way to go. It's just that I need someone with decent skills enough, so the final work might be considered at least something aspiring to be professional (obiviously, it won't be). Many people also stated my sister's art is very professional... It may look that, but trust me - she has a looong way to go to be called even a semi-professional artist. The only artists I could dare to call professionals which I know to some point would be Deji, and possibly Aqu - both because of enough critical acclaim for their works, their art itself is very decent and polished to the extent to be called 'very neat', also Deji worked over many projects and collaborations enough and she is a thaught illustrator, after all, has a job and earns money from what she does. She has the experience, others lack. But I believe that, neverthless if with knowledge gained by standard learning or self-thaught, everyone can become decent. Anyway, I'd also propably should be aiming lower... and I know that no decent artist is willing to do their job for free, because when you reach a certain line it's different, mostly because such artists already earn money from their works and don't see a point to do it, even if what they feel is wrong (ignorance that they reached that certain level they become so good, they don't need to improve anymore; they might be right at that anyway). I should be seriously considering hiring an artist, then. Still, it would be the best to get one from my country in that case because it will be easier that way. Yet, I wouldn't have any reason to post this topic, and I see many people here with potential talent and abilities. I'm propably trying to give an opportunity - you can call it like that - but yeah, everyone has their own ideas they'd like to work on first If not only. Everything's kinda complicated that way :| That's when it's the best to have good friends or even better, talented siblings who are willing to help.

Anyway, thanks for words of advice. I'll be propably searching here and there, considering DA with it's VN groupings the best source to find someone. Other than that, I hope this virus isn't contagious to such point, it will have a bad influence on me and my mind :)

Impulse, Nice Day remake, ソラノはてしない
If you meant for that to mean "Endless Sky", the Japanese is a bit unnatural.

The correct way would be はてしないソラ. Or, you could go the kanji route, and use 果てしない空. Sorry if you've already devoted to the name, but I thought you might want to know if you haven't...^^;

Lastly, for your project...I mean, I would try to take donations or...something to be able to give your artist, even if it's a just a little. =/ The project is just so intensive, and I pay my artist and I still feel bad on the sheer amount of work we need to get done in too-little time.

If you do find someone, though, the best of luck to you and I'm looking forward to see what you put out. :)

I know the perfect artist who could do that, his style is quite similar, you can see his deviantart here >> http://sketcher2007.deviantart.com but he doesn't work for free obviously

Ah, thanks for letting me know. I'm self-learning japanese bit by bit, but my level is propably too low to write simple sentences corrrectly, so I propably made a mistake. Yeah, it's "Endless/Everlasting Skies". Thanks for letting me know of this. I was wondering if it's better to write in kana or kanji, though kanji feels more eminent, it'll be also harder to read and understand.

Impulse isn't that intensive as it seems. It is also quite short (1-2 hours of steady reading max), but you have a point there - artists also need to live from something. You know - I could just pay my sister for the work (why didn't I consider such a solution earlier) :D Maybe this will motivate her enough to get the job done, and in that way she will earn some money for her upcoming studies and I won't have to pay astronomic ammounts of cash to hire a good artist. I'll try to talk with her about this idea :)

I know few similiar artists, but I'm not sure if that style would exactly fit for the game. But yes, it's a good artist.

Speaking of project... A small update. My sister did this today to cheer me up :)

We were thinking to use this as a sort of promo/poster art, or maybe even a cover (besides me having a new, neat avatar). We will see about that. What do you think, does it have the potential to become a good cover?

It will not be hard to read or understand if you are selling to Japanese people. 果 and 空 are well within the list of the 2000 most used kanji, and an average 10 year old should be able to read it.

As for English speakers, I'm sure they will understand the meaning since I assume it will be in English, and that is what furigana is for as well, to explain the hiragana meaning just in case.

One last thing. "Everlasting" might not be the MOST accurate definition of "hateshinai". 果てis literally "the end" and しない is "does not do". So "Endless" or "never-ending" is a little more correct, though you will probably get the point across anyway.

A japanese version would be great. Suprisingly, I was thinking both about polish and english version, as well as japanese, if I only find someone interested into translating this piece, not to mention me finishing this first :) But then, I doubt furigana will be *that* much required. Anyway, right now it's a long and almost impossible dream :)

Talking about the story, I'll be needing someone with good writing and proofreading skills to review the script, once it is ready. I doubt anyone would be interested in that? It could be just some help, or a decent position, if so the one who does the job would get it's name to the final credits. Like that, This work will require creating another second draft with all the corrections, including spelling, grammar errors, overal style and any other irregularities within the script. I still have to do a large piece of work halfway through, but I have both ending and beggining finished, so it won't take ages. If someone's interested, please PM me. It might bea bit to early, but It's always good to know if there is somebody willing to lend a helping hand.

I wish I were artistically talented enough to assist you with this project. I'll see if I can make anything mildly impressive compared to my usual works, and will send it over. I'll also talk it over with my artist friends. Anything to plug a good-looking project such as this.
I wish you luck, and know that if you still need a Beta-Reader, I'm here for you.

I'm not a artist (leastaways I'm not a whole lot of good with pencils), but I can write. If you need someone to go back over the project script and get the English version cleaned up for you so it sounds right to an English-speaking audience. As far as traditional prose, I'm mostly a Science-Fiction novelist.

Just a quick check: How's your research? Dare I ask what it was that caused the Apocalypse?
