Looking for a background artist

#1 Post by Arithra »

We Chrizine and I are looking for an artist for or G x B visual novel Perios - Chained Sorceress.
It is a fantasy game in which you take the place of a young girl who spent her childhood as a slave, when the caravan she is traveling with is attacked and her magical powers awaken and go wild.
Fortunatly an old mage who was traveling from the city back to the school finds her and takes her with him.
She is enrolled as one of the students so she can learn how to control her magic.

The game is completly planned and we are now writing it all out, but since both of us can't draw we are looking for help.
We found our character artists and are looking for a background artist now.
If you are interested please post in the forum or pm me I will give you more detailed information.

The story sounds very serious, but I like it.
If only I don't have so many projects, I would like to work on it.
Is it okay if I ask something? How many characters in this game^^?

Thank you. The story is quite serious but it has funny elements as well.

We would have loved to work with you as well, but because you had written you would rather wok on a shorter project we didn't ask.
Questions are always welcome! :)
The game includes 31 characters, including the heroine, but “only” 13 of them really need spirits.

The mage who picks you up in the beginning, the heroine( in her case it's only the face next to the dialogue box), the 6 obtainable guys, two female characters, the main enemy and two other important characters...

No it's not commercial. We are doing it for fun and most of the characters are only supporting characters.
Those 13 characters are important, the others help building the story. Since the first part of the game takes place in school and the player has to take some classes some of them are teachers, others are simply people who say something and since I don't life voice without faces, if counted them as characters... well most of them

Wow, I think your team is very diligent. And honestly, this project is very interesting for me.
If you want to try doing art, I can provide you clean pencil art (not sketch).
You don't need line-art it, however you must color it yourself (or find artist to color).
I can teach you how to color with super easy method using akvis color (let the program colors it for you)
Example: http://akvis.com/en/coloriage-tutorial/ ... icture.php

If you tinker the program a bit, maybe you can fully use it. I'm usually use Photoshop, so I haven't try this program that much.

As I've changed the topic above, we are now looking for a background artist. It's a fantasy setting with something like mediterranean climate.
If you are interested, please pm me or put a post here. :-)

Hm, I think it would be about 25 to 30 backgrounds... though some are quite similar, like
a street in the city and the same street after a fight...
Thanks for your post! :-)
Take a look at Perios - Chained Sorceress!
And also on Sword vs. Staff, my short new project...

As Chrizine said, there is quite a number of different backgrounds, with certain chngaes, that would make the game better but are not
all too important. Around 12 of them are essancial.
