Writing Scripts

#1 Post by Friendbot2000 » Sat Apr 23, 2011 10:23 pm

As I am sure all the writers in the room know, writing scripts takes a lot of time. One of the things I find to be useful is writing scripts using the program Celtx. It makes writing dialogue and different "stage" actions really easy. Names of characters are stored in a library for automated use. It also formats your script into a screenplay format that I feel gives it an air of professionalism about it. It is supported by Mac OSX, Linux, and Windows so everyone can use it :)

So give it a try and see what you think.

I like it too, but I often end up writing in a text editor. (Notepad++ being the current favourite)

For those of us using ren'py there is a nifty python script that turns Celtx into ren'py: http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/coo ... from_Celtx
