I also get inspired by a lot of things. Sometimes it may be a fleeting idea, a strong emotion or some event in my life. As to the presentation of my stories in visual novel format however, I am heavily and openly influenced by the early Altogether localized titles Narcissu and Soremata.

Sometimes, an idea may also be borne out of what I like to call a "just for lulz" trolling attempt which doesn't really negatively affect anyone except maybe a waste of their OH-SO-PRECIOUS TAIMU. An example of these would be some of my released works/collaborations such as Real Life: A Bishoujo Adventure, Shinsei and an upcoming work aptly titled : SYTYWTMAVN

How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Well, I'm also inspired by many things.
For the universe I'm creating:
Macross universe, Guyver, sci-fi TV series like star trek, scientific publications (particularly the ones about the laws the universe is supposed to be governed), any series about time travel, alternate universes, Hyperion...

For the character relationships:
Cross Channel, Kazoku Keikaku and now Homewards XD

And for fun things, I just try to create surreal humor, but as you might already know, it's not easy to make someone laugh at these kind of jokes.

particularly not inspired by anything lately(very busy at school and tasks at the committee at school and club)

If ever something inspires me now, my school life I guess(seeing that I'm experiencing the life of a japanese middle high school student...that I always want to input in my future game)

Dream? OTL

usually I just decide a "word" as the key-theme of a work (all kind of story-telling work, like comic/game)
then, I tried to explore it and wide it in story (which usually comes from my day-dreaming).

So sleeping is one of my asset lol...

Kinda reminds me of this nice concept of "awaken dream", when you're sleeping and dreaming, then you kinda figure out that you're asleep and dreaming, and that you can shape the contents.

I remember that one way to be in that state is to simply tell yourself before sleping that you're going to remember the dream.

And place a notebook and a pen next to your bed so that you'll be able to record it properly.

A better explanation here.

somehow since a nightmare when i was at junior high, i can differ if i am dreaming or not ... so well, if i see a nightmare i just need to scream "wake up" inside my heart and i'll open my eyes soon. and then, i can remember well the characters i met inside the dream until now OTL....(though mostly with blur face)... but really, a dream inspires me many original idea lmao.

I think the proper term for that is "lucid dreaming". I wish I could do it. I also wish I was more inspired by my dreams, but they tend to stick within the realms of people I know doing bizarre things, or me getting thrown into various anime series

I get inspired about certain concepts by certain movies, books, shows. Pretty standard. However, my character development and story development to some extent is largely inspired by music. Every time a song comes on the radio, I search my mind to see if I can associate it with a character, and through a lot of that, I kind of get a better feel for the person who's taken up residence in my head. ^_^

I could probably make a huuge playlist for the story I'm writing right now...
"It is [the writer's] privilege to help man endure by lifting his heart,
by reminding him of the courage and honor and hope and pride
and compassion and pity and sacrifice which have been the glory of his past."

Most of my inspiration comes from all the eroges I've played by now and what I DIDN'T like about it.
I found that there are more things that annoy me than things I like, which is kind of weird, since I still LOVE the genre. But most of the games I play make me think things like "Ugh, not the stereotypical faceless main character again.", "WTF? That's completly unrealistic.", "Oh GOD, why would you DO that?", "NO. I don't want to. Seriously, get your hands off my crotch.", "Pfft, the girls/guys are boring" or "...MC, you're doing it wrong.".

So if I want to play game I really like, I probably need to make it myself.
(I actually think that many of the indie games here are better than some of the mainstream japanese eroges.)

Books and movies play a big part too, though. Or pictures. Or music.

Inspiration? Well, most part of the inspiration I got is from other games. It doesn't matter which ones, I just play them, have an idea and it could be good or I just throwing it into my mind's trash bin (Yeah, mine has one =) )

A lot of my inspirations are historical- like, what if a parallel to situation X (really common example: American Revolution) had happened in a fantasy world? I also take inspiration from things I don't like. I'll read a book, and think, cool premise, but I could have done it way better! And the plot bunnies will start.

BTW, OP, I PM'd you a thing about Hearts::Hated.
