What programs do you use to make music?
I'm quite curious to hear what sort of programs there are for this and if they are free. I used to have a program that would write sheet music and give you wmv.s from it but it wasn't really that hot....anyway, please share ^.^ <3

I use FL studio 10.
It's not free but you can...
...get it,
you know...

I'm still a newbie though! But so far I'm loving the experience, I already composed many songs ^^ . You can save them in .mp3, .ogg or .mid format!

I use Logic Pro for composing, recording, and editing. It's pricey but amazing. I haven't started on the music for my game yet, but I've been quite happy using it for other music projects over the last year.

I've done all my sound work in Musagi. Its main advantages are that it's free and the learning curve isn't overly harsh. However, it's geared mainly towards chiptune creation and it takes a bit of VSTi hunting to get other sounds. It also lacks a few advanced control elements (automation) and isn't actively supported, but I've found it powerful enough for my purposes.

I'm looking at open sourced music for my needs, you just need to look at the copyrights and email the composer with your intent and get their permission. However that doesn't mean I haven't looked at software to make music, one that caught my eye was Anvil Software, which is freeware and seems to have some decent features. I'm not quite at the stage where I'm going to use it with my planning and all.
Here's a video of it in action:

Anyway hope this helps.

I've tried Musagi, but it's instability is quite annoying and it couldn't even load/save midi files.

It's not intended to be a midi editor, as far as I know. You might have better luck wit Anvil Studio for stuff like that.redcat wrote:I've tried Musagi, but it's instability is quite annoying and it couldn't even load/save midi files.
