Visual fanservice is typically more of a "turn-on" for a male audience and there is no female equivalent. Our brains are wired differently. Thus showing any skin on a female character is a "service" for a male audience.
However, as this thread shows there are visuals cues that can be attributed as a "service" to female audience.
The variety between female visual fanservice is pretty vast in comparison to "showing skin" for the male version. (I know I'm over simplifying this a little.)
In general, showcasing the relationship between the love interest and the player character is often a service. Holding, caressing, kissing and all that stuff is pretty serviceable.
Alternating signs of strength and signs of vulnerability. (i.e. the brooding loner with a dark past, popular school idol with no real friends.)
After that there's a long list of personal preferences in this thread. :3
And I must be the only girl here not big on physical affections, especially if it's meant to be surprising, like sneaking up and trying to hug or touch from behind. Someone trying to do that is more likely than not to get elbowed or punched.

It's not like there's a scientific formula that can be followed, for women or men either. Men might generally like certain displays of skin, but exactly WHICH skin they find sexiest varies by culture a whole lot, and there are many INDIVIDUALS that any particular man very much does not want to see naked.
A hug from someone you don't want to hug you, ESPECIALLY as a surprise, is not a nice present.
I am reminded of that awful politician who was on record saying that "Women like chocolate cake, so they wouldn't really object to being forced to eat it, and it's the same with sex!" Uh, NO.

In most korean drama (for girls) I've watched, fanservice is usually where the boys (the OMG handzomes male protagonists) gets wet (not that kind of wet, pervert!), sometimes shirtless (showing off their firm bodies), playing around, smiling and laughing (sometimes hinting yaoi but obviously they're not since all the boys are crazy over the heroine)... OR pillow fight!!!

Time to warm things up!... Let's start with an early morning breakfast scene where you are greeted from behind by this handsome long haired middle aged slightly overweight guy wearing glasses and aprons cooking eggs...

@LVUER:yeah.... and additional info is: I don't really like always smiling guys cause they are usually the super emo or the fake types <.< But a smiling guy which has a split personality of a yandere or actually a yandere isn't bad too *looks at Ace of heart no kuni no alice and Natsuki/Satsuki of utapri*.
I dunno why i like grumpy guys... i just realized i like them when i already like them.... *bricked*
EDIT: Didn't noticed there was another post seconds before i posted >.<
