God damn Dostoevsky... I never liked to read those books on literature classes. Even though those were books for home reading...I never read Crime and Punishment OR saw A.I. until this year

Well, in my opinion epilogue is like try to continue story. Not like completely new chapter, but as a mini-chapter that can clear some plot holes. Right epulogue obviously can't be bad, when bad epilogue can ruin all impression this story made.

There are cases where the test audience meddling seems to turn things out 'right', it's not *always* a terrible thing... but yeah, sometimes it seems like they've all missed the point and insist on tacking something on that doesn't fit with the movie up until that point. (And sometimes they catch the original author doing that and object!)
