Extra Credits

#1 Post by SvenTheViking »

Penny Arcade's Extra Credits

It's been mentioned in a few other threads (as shown by a search for "extra credits"), but I didn't find a thread dedicated to it, so I decided to make one.

I think it's one of the better resources for advice on game and narrative design (mostly narrative in game design, but it still applies). If you're ever stuck on a problem, go look through their videos. There's probably something there to watch that will give you some idea of how to solve your problem.

EDIT: Changed link to reflect what Mink pointed out.

It has a separate website now.

Also, this show is one of few things that pulls me from my cynicism.
"I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love."

"Couldn't you stop this?"
"Probably, but I don't want to."

I've been following them since the very first episodes. Great show with great people behind it.
I just can’t sit any other way than this. If I sit the way other people do, my reasoning ability drops by 40%.

Yes, as someone that has worked with professional game developers I can attest that everything Extra Credits says is right on the money.

Watching all their videos is like taking a course in game design.
