On that note, I realized I like the story better if I take out what was originally another path, make it one, and just make it so the player has to get to the end without getting an early game over.
Nothing wrong with that, it makes the main story more interesting

!
Yeah, the other path I originally had is boring in comparison.
On that note, I'm considering not doing this one. Mainly because I feel like it'll be rushed, which I'm too anal to allow. On the other hand, I can always do a KN (with different characters) set in the same world
which is based off one of Aesop's fables.

After some thinking, I'm joining as well. I probably won't get much art done, so I guess I'll resort to descriptions and the like for this one.

I've posted the clock.
I've also posted a new WiP: NaNoRenO section, for people who want to use it. In that section, the usual rules about WiP progress are waived for NaNoRenO participants. I encourage people to tag their threads with the year ([2012]), so historians can figure that out.
Meta-discussion and organization should remain in this thread.

^Yep, this is what I'm doing. I keep flip-flopping about something a character does (which is more or less the whole plot to MBH!), so this is probably a better idea.
That and less sprites. Experienced with that, I am not.

Good luck, everyone!
Since newbies claiming to be in NaNoRenO have a bit of a notorious habit of not actually delivering anything by the end of the month, I'll only make promises in the negative: whatever happens, I'll make no Japanese high school dating VN

.
Here's a half-scale mockup of what I'll be working on:

I woke up the morning and thought, "Time to work on our NaNo game!" This is going to be a lot more code than I'm used to. >.>;;

I think I might be participating. P: I haven't released any VNs yet, but I hope to get some of my ideas out there and have some fun the process.

I'm in. I've done NaNoWriMo and it's been awesome for pushing me to finish works, so I hope this'll do the same for getting me to finish a visual novel. I'm not too good at art or music, but here's a chance to improve. I'll make my first goal to settle on an idea. I've had one in my head for a bit, but I don't know if I can finish it in a month.
Does anyone have any advice for a NaNoRenO newbie? Maybe a limit you set for yourself (have x sprites or x amount of words, kinda like NaNoWriMo's 50k words) or do you just go with having a finished game in a month, like was mentioned before? Thanks guys and good luck!

My advice is (not speaking so much from experience) is figure out what you NEED and what you WANT. Do what you you need first so that at any point the game will be playable. If you have time left after that, do all the stuff you want in bits so that, again, at any point your game is playable.
