I'm thinking of joining and I have a few questions. Does this HAVE to be a romance game? I'm not very good at romance writing. I'd probably have something closer to a Higurashi or Saya no Uta horror suspense game unless I really pushed myself to write a romance. Who decides the winning entry? And also, who won last year's competition? I'd like to see the winning entry from the last one.
Thanks in advance and I'm already starting to get the creative juices flowing!

No. It can be any VN or dating sim.frumplstlskn wrote:Does this HAVE to be a romance game?
This isn't a competition. You enter and see if you can pull it through.frumplstlskn wrote:Who decides the winning entry? And also, who won last year's competition? I'd like to see the winning entry from the last one.
Last year we had for instance Quine or Go! Magical Boy

And welcome to the forums!
That's true.denzil wrote:GMB was IntRenAiMo game and not a NaNoRenO one.
So even more specifically:
Year 2005:
~~~~~~~
- NaNoRenO 2005 (entries and finished games)
Year 2006:
~~~~~~~
- NaNoRenO 2006 (entries and finished games)
- NaNoRenO+ 2006 (no entries and no finished games)
- IntRenAiMo 2006 (entries and finished games)
Year 2007:
~~~~~~~
- NaNoRenO 2007 (entries)
Summary:
~~~~~~~
A quick list of completed games (NaNoRenO 2005, NaNoRenO/IntRenAiMo 2006).
Should be clear now ^_^
Thank you for the information.
I'm surprised 2006 trailed 2005 in output, but later more than made up for it by the explosion of games and demos in the fourth quarter.
I don't know why, but I also have a nice feeling we're going to hit above 50% completion rate for 2007.
EDIT: How about NaNoRenO+ and IntRenAiMo 2007?
The support period of 2 weeks Jan31 to Feb14 is past, and is barely 10 days till the start of March. I guess that makes NaNoRenO+ not applicable.
As for IntRenAiMo...any game whose deadline coincides with Mar31...hmmm

I was planning on not really having a NaNoRenO+ or IntRenAiMo this year. No one undertook NaNoRenO+ last year, and we started kind of late this year, so I didn't think it would be a good idea to have NaNoRenO+. As for IntRenAiMo, it just seems kind of out of scope. I didn't really want to encourage people to do a hasty job finishing a game they've been working on for a long time, just so it could count for IntRenAiMo
Agreed. It's best to keep it simple.ShiraiJunichi wrote:I was planning on not really having a NaNoRenO+ or IntRenAiMo this year. What worries me a bit is that to date from the 2005 and 2006 events only ONE game was actually finished AFTER the deadline. So if you don't make it before April 1st, statistically, chances for your game are very slim.

Just by the bye. I think there's going to be at least one IntRenAiMo entry this time... Mine! I'm creating a game right now, with the help of MikeAngel05, who's going to do the artwork. I was going to enter this NaNoRenO, but I thought it wasn't going to happen so I decided to begin earlier and finish in March 31st as a kind of a personal challenge. No need to put me in or anything, just warning everybody that my game is NOT NaNoRenO work. And I have a question: if I manage to fifsh it earlier, should I wait until 31 or just post it anyway?
Oh yes. And good luck to all the participants of this year's NaNoRenO! May the caffeine be with you.
