I'd add Reconstruction 01 - that game was all CGs more or less. So was Fade, colorless day. And Tales Of Lemma. Not to Binary Hearts, Wings Princess Of Fire (that had a *panning* CG), even some of ours, EBG, GR, also G!MB and there are even more I suppose.

Everyone else seems to be posting progress reports, so I guess I'll join in and update the curious. Just last night I wrapped up the first of four "arcs", the introduction of the two main characters. I feel like I should've gotten more done by now, but there's been a few distractions and quite a few interruptions. But now, moving into the second arc, things'll start to pick up so I'll probably burn right through it on one of my writing "highs". That exhilarating feeling you get when you're writing the most exciting parts of your story, ahh, nothing compares to it.

There's nothing else done at the moment, though. Backgrounds and music I'll probably pull from somewhere in the vast and wide internet, so no worries there. Character art is still a concern though... If forced to, I'll do it myself, but I'd rather not reach that point if I can help it. So I'm still looking for an artist to lend a helping hand if anyone is interested. I'll try to keep the needs to as small as possible. But maybe it's already too late to ask and I'll just have to resign myself to my fate.

Drake, I can help you with character art...more like...last 2 weeks or 10 days in March?

Dang it, I'm too greedy and impulsive when it comes to projects. But I do have a vested interest in getting games out (games or their authors whom I believe in). Right now...must finish betatesting. I actually enjoy this. Must maintain a good track record of everything that's touched (that's not my project) seeing eventual release.

Are you sure you wanna take on another job (another job from me, no less)? You're already doing a lot, and I wouldn't want to screw up your scheduling or anything. I'm not in a position to deny help, though, so if you can handle it, I'd be glad to have you on board. I really owe you one... well, if we're keeping track, I guess I owe ya two...

I thought Araiah was your favor to me, not the other way around

In any case, this one's definitely priority. (Geee, look at the pipeline!)

(That's the problem with NaNoRenO...when you know you can contribute, so you do... now just need to make certain that next month, I'll really return full-swing on the epic ones.)

I'm happy! I got over 20,000 words last night, including all paths. Yay! (Some of the story parts are similar in wording, but subtly different ... but, still ... )

Hmm...

I am regretfully informing everyone that...

I will have to quit NaNoRenO race (I will release my NaNoRenO entry probably early June or July), Put Lucy's Revenge Uncut on hold indefinitelly and will concentrate on filling the missing gaps on my flagship project.

Reason...

What I have here is roughly 50Gig recovered from my accidentally Ghosted HD and sorted about 45Gig of data and yet the amount of data recovered related to my flagship project Mr. K is smaller than I have anticipated...

Here are the figures...

BG Illustrations
Out of 30 done (excluding BG Illustrations done AFTER the ghosting accident), so far I only recovered 5 of them

Script / Plot
Complete plot but none recovered so far (a 30% complete backup does exist and I now have to fill in the missing gaps)

Character Illustrations
Out of 35 done so far... none has been recovered

Event CG's
Out of 20 done so far (excluding Event CG's done AFTER the ghosting accident), I have recovered 8

As of writting, I am now manually sorting the remaining 5Gig of unsorted data but statistically speaking... the odds are against me.

I have exerted way too much effort already on Mr. K and there is no way I'm quitting at this point.

Goes back to work...

That's sad news. It seemed almost certain that you would recover almost all if not all of Mr K's files. Here's hoping that the last 5 gigs of recovered data is all the psd files clustered together (for example, if they were saved in the same sector since they were worked on roughly the same time and saved in the same folders.)

But that doesn't mean I am giving up (HELL NO!)

About Character Illustrations... Yes, I may have lost them but I still have the inked drawings so all I have to do is to scan them and color them once again.

Me too but most of the files on the remaining 5Gig unsorted data are smaller than 5MB (I only counted 20 files that are bigger than 25MB).

Anyway, I really do not have much of a choice but to work on it and fill the missing gaps... I will finish what I have started.
Goes back to work...

Wow, what a blow, losing all your art like that. I don't know if your character pieces take as long as mine do (4-5 hours) but it can really add up.

Last time that happened to me with Limitations and Unwoven, I gave up entirely. Losing Unwoven REALLY hurt because I was topping 150,000 words in the novel-style manuscript that I intended to publish one day ...

I on the other hand will not give up since I have this uncontrollable urge/obsession to finish Mr. K (to the point that I even hired the services of a data recoverer to recover my lost data).

Anyway, it wasn't all that bad.

I still have roughly 30% of the script and filling the missing parts will not be hard since I have partially memorized it.

About the artwork... Yes, I may have lost most of it (but not all of it) but that doesn't mean I will give up on it... I'll just have to draw again the missing parts... that's all.

It might delay my project a bit (by a few months) but it's definitelly better than giving up.

Goes back to work... again

Umm... mugen, not to detract you from your current project or anything, but our little not-so-secret-anymore project is still on right?
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Hmmm ... I actually went through and added the totals. It gives me a good idea of where I need to be.

Doing such totals may actually help me schedule the workload.

Script
2 paths are 100%, all others are currently 80%-90% (splitting at the same time)

Sprites
2 of 4 large sprites are finished
15 of 24/30 planned emoticons are finished

Backgrounds
5 of 14 BGs are finished (I may be able to lower it to 13)

Event CGs
1 of 3 necessary event CGs are finished (will do more only if able)

Music
None (waiting on outside computer, Enerccio)

Sounds
21 sounds (I find them at http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ as needed)

Unless you are a very talented artist with Photoshop, any offers of help will be declined. I need someone who could match my style almost exactly, which means they're either at my level or above it ... and such folks are hard to come by.

Ok, some good news and some bad news... Bad news first, my IntRenAiMo game has been put on hold indefinetly. (It's the one I alluded to in a certain extra in Pygmalion) Partly for some hardware problems (I know how you feel, mugenjohncel! :( ), partly due to lack of contact with my artist but most of the fault lies with myself. I guess I wasn't exactly MUCH excited with it in the beginning. Then another artist came along and I had already promised something in my last game so... Actually, after I started working on it for some time my enthusiasm started growing on my game. But then came NaNoRenO and then I started having difficulties contacting the artist (can't exactly blame him. I wasn't showing him a lot of the game and my enthusiasm only started to grow when his was probably irrevocably lost already...) Also there is the fact that after NaNoRenO I should start focusing on my studies (there's a special reason, but it's a long story).
Well, every failure is another lesson, and the project isn't totally suspended. I may finish it, but certanly NOT at the end of May and maybe I never will, so don't wait for it, OK?
Now, the good news: My other project is going fine (the script is about 80-85% finished and character art will generously be provided by DaFool) and getting this other project out of the way means that I will have more time to dedicate to this one. Expect a later release (abouth the final week of NaNoRenO) but a much more complete and revised game. Again, sorry everyone and my sincerest apologies to MikeAngel05 for letting down a project in which you had invested so much.
