This video is a goldmine of ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKi7CzP9Dxs

Here is my idea. Unfortunately, I need a bit of magic and/or high-tech or else I'm stuck.
A world where the love potion exists, but since sneaking love potion is against free will, social rules (and/or law) dictates it can only be used couples already in love, in order to make the relationship last forever. (This drastically changes the dramas around love potions)

It's not a bad thing to rely on a little magic or technology. Anyway, I would read this!

Have a few ideas that I will leave here, because I highly doubt I will ever get around to fully developing them myself.

1. MC gets viciously dumped by her boyfriend. She turns to magic for revenge and creates a semi-living voodoo doll in her ex's likeness, in a curse ritual. To complete the spell, she must destroy the doll on the next full moon (which is a month away). The doll will probably have a childlike mentality, always asking questions about everything and probably driving the MC nuts, but is also very sweet and innocent. When the next full moon arrives, will the MC still see the doll as an expendable means to exact her revenge?
2. You (MC) have to babysit your niece/nephew for a week while your sister/brother and their SO go on a vacation. Can you handle it? [parenting sim idea]
3. AU reality where heterosexuality is the taboo; "Like must stay with like". As far as procreation goes, the higher class can 'custom-order' their children by choosing the sperm/eggs they want and having them made in a lab. For those less rich, couples can use 'breeders'; females to carry babies for M/M couples and males to inseminate one or both women in an F/F couple. Single MC goes to a breeder and impregnates her. Over the 9 months while she's pregnant, he keeps tabs on her and as he gets to know he, he starts falling in love with her despite the social norms. What would he do?

This one is excellent, I'll definitely be stealing aspects from it myself.

I suppose I may as well also put up an offering.

Let's say a crow learns to understand human speech, and follows humans around day and night. This crow's fascination grows until eventually taking on a human appearance, however this is not subject to the crow's will. In the nighttime human, and in the daylight crow. What can be achieved in a single night is limited, but the crow will be helpless but to watch the effects of their actions the following day with little way to further direct them until the next night. Aside from taking on the form of a human and the ability to speak in their tongue, the crow will not take on any other their other attributes and does not have very long left before a natural death. It could go in multiple directions, but probably towards a kind of eery romance.

I've been thinking about writing something with this plot. Pretty sure it's nothing new or special but the subjects are quite interesting:

Rough Synopsis
MC lives a pretty normal life as a high schooler. She is smart, beautiful and respected by both classmates and teachers.
However things change when she gets a second hand camera from her grandfather as a birthday present. Out of love for him she starts reluctantly taking pictures with this „out of date“ thing. But something seems wrong since the photos don't show the scenes she has taken. Buildings are destroyed, people are missing, the nature is ruined. In search of an answer she slowly comes to a disturbing conclusion: How can you continue your normal life when you know it will end soon?

The story basically deals with the topics: What do you do when you know everything will end soon? What worth do dreams and relationships still have? Can you fight your fate?
The happy and normal life of MC gets more and more ruined. She becomes introverted, paranoid and separates herself from friends and family while she searches for an answer how to prevent things from happening. You pretty much accompany her while her life is tumbling down. I'm not sure whether a good or bad end fits best.
It's probably SOL, mystery and drama.

How does she know that the camera is showing the future? (by the way how distant the future?) *reading the beginning I thought it shows her the real world around her while she's taking some meds to allow her see happy dreams instead*

Of course there would be some kind of process. I would drop small hints which lead the MC to this conclusion.
For example: In the beginning she would just wonder why the camera took those pictures. Then there could be a fire in the woods where she took a photo before (the photo shows the burned down woods where new trees are growing). A photo of her family only shows her mother with a sad face so she starts to believe the other family members have no future. And so on...
So MC does more research and experiments (like taking pictures of plants she poisoned -> pictures show the limp plants; seeding plants ->pictures show those plants growing, so she can estimate the distance in time). Distance will be less than a year (probably 6-8months).
Nevertheless there will be no final proof that all this is happening for sure (and why) for a long time. But it's enough for the MC to believe it.

Reading the plot synopsis for Fudatsuki no Kyoko-chan left me thinking. What other kinds of stories can be written in which the main character cares about another person in their family, but has to do embarrassing things in order to help them?
Shinoki wrote:A story about government and chaotic junk in a country that is run by teenagers for some reason. Main character is the head of the system...
Let's say that there has been a large-scale disaster. Most if not all of the adults died, and communication networks have been destroyed. The main character is currently the leader of the few dozen people still alive in his small town. Can he help them survive?

Yesterday when I was writing my first VN I got a great idea.

I was writing a Sci-Fi story, and asked myself what could be more epic than a space war in our galaxy.
And then I thought, why not a war between multiple galaxies?
I haven't added any detail, the idea is just this huge war XD

I have never seer something like that in a story. It would be really cool if someone wrote something like that :3

Consider the merits of a story with a main character between ages 30 and 50.

* How many duties and responsibilities do they have? Maybe they're unemployed or homeless, or really needing to escape their current situation. Maybe they're a leader or a parent or a celebrity.
* What perspectives do they currently have? Perhaps they still regret major decisions they made decades ago, or perhaps they've moved on. Maybe they believe that comics and video games can never be anything more than trash, or maybe they are creating art in unpopular forms and genres. It's possible that they worry a lot about monetary investments, but it's also possible that they're striving to invest in other people.
* What makes them interesting as a person? Do they cringe if a teenager calls them irrelevant? Did the main character read a lot of action-adventure stories growing up, and now he's writing stories on a professional level? Is the main character a businesswoman who's still a tomboy after all these years?
* Is this a delayed coming of age story for the main character? If the person is a widow(er), how will they segue into another relationship?

Scope can be a major problem. If there are dozens or hundreds of important characters, then a lot of them might end up being irrelevant, redundant, or just plain forgettable. If the world of a story is huge, then how many of its locations are interesting or distinct? That said... consider writing a short story that's about a few people who are involved in a sci-fi war. Only use a handful of characters, and give them one or maybe two goal to accomplish.

Dropping this one here since I've had it around for a while but I never managed to do anything with it (I completely forgot about it even, just rediscovered the documents today), since I can't write and I want to do other projects anyway :')
So if anybody wants to grab it and have fun with it, by all means go ahead!
I have only one request: don't include abuse (psychological, physical or sexual) or "the power of love" in the story :P
A girl has a weird dream: in it, two mysterious girls, that she seems to know well, appear before her and gets her close to a boy that she feels attracted to. They tell her to perform a “reading” and find him.

The protagonist is a dreamy and kind of introverted girl, who goes to a school not exactly close to home. She has a best friend with opposite personality (extroverted, down to earth and energetic). They’ve been classmates for several years and they tel each other everything.
In her class there is also a boy, Pan, who is a bit tough and annoying, but still handsome and charming. They have been classmates and friends for years, too. Secretly, the protagonist has feelings for him, but she gave up on him before even trying.
All this plain world starts to be altered by the strange dreams the protagonist has about the girls and the boy, which tell her about a world she belongs to and about this boy she seems to have feelings for. Those dreams will happen more and more often and will get more “sense” each time, so much it will make the protagonist wonder if they don’t really mean something and if they’re actually real. A new girl in her class will be her guide to understand those dreams and realize her mission: to find the boy in the present world.
In the end, the protagonist put all the pieces of the puzzle together and they tell her an unbelievable truth: the world she’s in, her friends, her memories… they’re not real. It’s a world created inside the boy’s “mind”, and she’s there to ind in in order to gather information about the boy’s existence… That’s the so called “reading”. In order for this trip to end, she has to make contact with him, wherever he might be. The new classmate is actually one of the girls of her dreams, who entered the “reading” to help her.
The boy is hidden in plain sight: he was there all the time, in the same building, in the class right above hers. She finally sees him and runs to find him t end all this confusing story…
… only to discover that it doesn’t end, and the boy doesn’t have a clue of what she’s talking about. He says he’s happy to see her too, he just transferred to the school that year and didn’t know she was attending there. They used to be friends when kids but haven’t seen each other ever since but a couple of short times by chance. On top of that, he has a girlfriend: The class president, who is the other girl from her dream…. What’s going on?
Fom there, the protagonist has two choices: to dismiss the dreams and what the new classmate told her, or persevere in the “reading” and try to make the boy to recall his true origin and end the “reading”.

There are three possible endings (so far):

- The boy gets his memory back, the “reading” ends and they form a “link” that will only let her perform “readings” on him.

- The boy doesn’t get his memories back from the protagonist. Instead, his girlfriend (the other girl int he dream) gets him to remember and to end the “reading”. Since the protagonist failed, she’s not allowed to perform readings o him again, and is transferred to another team.

- The protagonist ultimately dismisses the dreams as fantasy and in the end gets to be with Pan. (That would mean a failure of the reading and the inability to “unplug” the protagonist’s mind from the boy’s world, so she would end up kind of comatose)
The development documents I wrote back in 2010 are here:

I think it'd be fun to have a story where the main character sees everyone as something that's not human, like robots (like in Quaila the Purple) or bears (Yuri Kuma Arashi manga version). Adding a bit of "reality is what you believe" or sci-fi/fantasy could be funny too (like having the humans that are seen as robots/bears/etc show superpowers or skills that humans don't have but robots/bears/etc do).

:v ...I feel like there are a few things with non-human characters out there already, but the ones that have non-humanoid characters (I believe there was a goldfish otome game somewhere)... well, I haven't found finished ones yet.

*weird person who wants to see game with interesting creatures making up most of the sprites*
