How do you feel about animated cutscenes? Are they worth having over a CG, or is it a waste of time?
Also to those of you who know a bit about animation: do you know a program that can string together images to create an animation? I don't need anything with a great art platform, just that can take photos and convert them into mp4, mpg, mov, or other movie file.

Re: Animated cutscenes?
I personally think an animated cutscene would be worth it :>. Well as long as the animation doesn't make things more difficult to the point where you may not finish.
And I can't answer your other question ^^;.

I don't think cutscenes would be a waste of time unless they didn't add anything essential to the story. There is also another thread on a similar question.lemonokashi wrote:How do you feel about animated cutscenes? Are they worth having over a CG, or is it a waste of time?
Adobe Premiere and After Effects, iMovie, or Windows Movie Maker, maybe?lemonokashi wrote: Also to those of you who know a bit about animation: do you know a program that can string together images to create an animation? ATL in Ren'py can do pretty nice things as well, from what I've seen.

Re: Animated cutscenes?
There's also Adobe Flash that can make animations as well. Or you can just make them in ATL for free. However Ren'py ATL can't handle extremely fast/crazy animations as it will take a lot of coding to get what you want.
If you are going for additional special effects then After Effects or another movie editing program would work.
Animated cutscenes are great if they are done well.
