What parings would you like?
I've been entertaining the idea of having other routes besides BxG. I've had a couple of conversations with others and It made me think of widening my net, giving more players what they want.
I can easliy add a BxB route, so there's that.
but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do a playable woman character.
I have enough guys/girls to choose from. But I'm not sure whether I should use one of my 6 heroines or just make new character instead-I mean it would be pretty redundant to the male and female MC to date
twice and have the same things happen.
What are your opinions?

It's a bit hard to really understand your situation. But I got some good advice on something similar a while ago.
Don't ever compromise a good story for the sake of pandering to your players.
Do you think your story could use a good BxB road? Radical, go for it. Do you really want to flesh out a GxG arc? Cool, good luck. The question you should be asking isn't what do the players want? The question is: what would make my story better?
Unless you're selling it for money. In which case, always pander to your audience.

Re: What parings would you like?
I wouldn't say that having a choice between a female or male MC that have the exact same scenarios is redundant. In cases like that they're essentially the same character, it's just the player's choice which gender they want to identify as.
But you do have other options. If you pick any other of your existing characters it could be interesting to see the story from a different perspective. Depends on what you want to achieve. Do you just want to have different genders as options or do you want to tell more stories? That sort of thing. ^^

Well, more than just pairings it's about interesting characters and relationships. Is there a reason you're having trouble with a playable female character? If you don't feel comfortable with it, don't force yourself. Personally, I've never really done a main playable male character cause I just have more fun writing female MCs. As long as the character has an interesting personality and story, most people will want to play it.

You are right, I have the resources to do it but it may be better to leave these other route ideas for a separate story later. hmmm...
Yeah, you nailed it. I think I'm going for multiple stories, right now every character route leads to it's own story. It's not like mass effect where you can just skin your character and go through the same linear plot picking one relationship.Alera wrote:I wouldn't say that having a choice between a female or male MC that have the exact same scenarios is redundant. I don't want it to be just a gender-swap, the female mc would be her own character.
No trouble, I can write anything. It's just I'm not sure if it's....needed?yoshibb wrote:Well, more than just pairings it's about interesting characters and relationships. I'm having a hard time figuring out If I should use one of the heroines or make a new mc. Also I feel like I would need to have the same amount of routes that I have for the male MC for the female MC. Something I really don't wanna do.
It may be better for a separate story.
