In my society, anyone suggesting that a woman who approaches a man is automatically a prostitute would be banished. If you held a good job, you might be forced to give it up, and people would be embarassed to speak to you. Anyone hearing you say such things would be shocked and horrified, even frightened of you. Only in the fringes of society (or if you were very old and considered to be half-crazy anyway) would such statements be accepted.

Yes, taking culture to consideration can be quite important. It also would be better to try not to offend anyone's religion, gender, age, race, sexual orientation etc., even though these things vary so much that in the end you probably can't make a real story that would be morally and culturally right from everyone's perspective.

For me I would prefer a visual novel with a good storyline, music and graphics, but its rare to find something that good that someone isn't selling for money. But for other games that have ameture parents I prefer a longer game than anything else. The graphics may be bad, I'll ignore them. The music may suck, hey I'll put my computer on mute. The storyline sucks... meh I'll use the game for bordom-filler purposes.

Length means that I'll spend more time on it. The more time I spend on it, the more I like it. If it's a short one that will only take a half an hour to finnish it will be boring to me.

Storyline is the next thing that I would take into consideration. If it's a good storyline, then I'll face bad graphics and music - I've done it once before on someone's Dating Sim they made hastily drawing with a mouse.

Graphics are next. The game has more eye-candy when there are good graphics.

Music is last. Last because I don't care much and will listen to anything as long as it isn't really bad. Though... bad to me is heavy rock, songs with screaming, swearing, rap, punk, hip hop and the like. I'm a very soft-song kind of girl. A good soft lyricless melody always works wonders.

As for music and sound effects, though they're not high in the importance hierarchy in making a good VN, proper choice and queue of sound and music will greatly enhance the game experience in my opinion.

lol well yeah... But I spend all my time on the computer anyways so for my mom it doesn't really make a difference. She doesn't care as long as I don't get a virus on her computer or make her computer slower than it already is - which is kind of impossible because her computer takes a minute to load things sometimes and it's only 1/3rd full in terms of computer space.

Is there anyplace you can reach that has a faster connection, such as an internet cafe? If there is, you could always bring something (preferably a flashdrive if possible) to a computer there and download whatever you want.
