Voltage competition

So is anyone else going to try out the Voltage illustration and writing competition?

http://www.voltage.co.jp/koiapp-award2015/en/

They have 3 different international categories

International Script Writing
International Anime Illustration
International Graphic Illustration

Thought I'd try scripting writing (3000 words - should be doable) although I'm guessing it's probably best to use short sentences since it's for mobile devices.

Might be fun - anyone else joining me?

personally I wouldn't join the art part of the competition. Still hopefully you win on the writing!!!

I read the whole thing and the setting/characters made me cringe a bit buuut... i don't know, I kinda wanna participate! Just for fun. Though I haven't decided whether I should try writing or drawing.

I'm with Zino, haha. The writing prompt definitely made me cringe, but I guess it's as much as can be expected from a romance app company. It still sounds like a fun competition, and with a pretty hefty prize. I won't be participating in the screenwriting section, but I might have to submit something in one of the illustration categories.

Thanks for bringing this to attention!

I plan to enter into the writing section of their contest. I wasn't that thrilled by their writing prompt, but I'm viewing it as a challenge to make it interesting. I want to try to do two entries for this contest.

The script writing theme is only one, and the theme is very mediocre imo. Won't be joining so good luck to those who join in.

Yeah the theme is a little cringe worthy, but I found when I started to write the characters it got better.
I can see what they're trying to do - 1st scene intro the chars etc, 2nd scene has conflict and 3rd scene has the romance.
I've just got to do another couple of edits on mine then I can submit it.

Just keep in mind that they don't always pick a winner.
Last year (their third yr of running the contest) was the first time they actually awarded their first prize in one of the illustration categories.
Mostly it's runners-up and honourable mentions.
But who knows - maybe this year the best entries in each category will be stellar works and awarded the first prizes or maybe they are planning on handing out all the prizes (be nice if they mentioned that somewhere on the contest page though).

Seeing how gorgeous the previous years' entries were, there is no way I'd stand a chance in the illustration category! But I will gladly support everyone who enters for sure.

Just reminding everyone that wants to enter into Voltage's writing and drawing contest... the deadline is midnight on January 11th JST. For North America, that's 10AM January 10th EST. So just a heads up.

XD It was probably me that you saw posting it in different places, lol. Oddly people are still able to enter in even though it's already passed the deadline based on the site. I sent in my two entries yesterday and helped my artist friend with sending hers in since she kept having issues.
