[CWDS-CitB] Engine name?

#1 Post by Yang Sei Fu »

To Taleweaver & everyone else;

Doug and I have been discussing (while I'm working like hell) what the engine name should be called, for we've been working on the project while calling the engine "the engine" or "the proggie" (and worse).

It's about time we give a decent name to it.

We've thought of several names. Vote on it.
PCAL (Processorium Computatralium *pro* Adamo-Literati)
PAL (As above, skip "computer")
CW (Taken from the first "two" words of my company name)
Paths (This is actually an old name from Journeys' old music list)
Keys (As in keys to journeys...)

If you have any other...please feel free...to...add...
zz.......zzzzz.....

I'd say Paths sounds good, but experience shows the simplest thing will stick to it - I think of your engine as CWDS engine :D

My choice would be Ren'Gine, as in "Ren'ai" and "engine".
Scriptwriter and producer of Metropolitan Blues
Creator of The Loyal Kinsman
Scriptwriter and director of Daemonophilia
Scriptwriter and director of The Dreaming
Scriptwriter of Zenith Chronicles
Scriptwriter and director of The Thirteenth Year
Scriptwriter and director of Romance is Dead
Scriptwriter and producer of Adrift

hmm....I'm pretty sure this has been mention somewhere before, but what type of engine is it?

I like keys, but Ren'Gine sounds good too.

I like "Paths" on the list, since it since it seems to represent your project the best. Ren'Gine is cool too, but it does sound like a name for a publicly available engine for others to download. I am ofcourse assuming your engine is not publically available for download or for sale. If that is the case, you shouldn't need to be bothered too much about having a fancy name.

It's been decided that the engine will be call PAL...

No...just kidding. We've agreed on Paths.

Distribution and copyright: Until official incorporation of CWDS, the engine will be limited freeware, only distributed with permission of both Doug Steele and me. Afterwards a license fee may incur.

now...more news.
Our character artist Jesi *bonk* I mean Zakary is redrawing her *bonk* his characters! While it doesn't look much different from the older version, the style is much more refined and proportional. Unfortunately there will be no disclosure of the new design pictures.
