Watching the droplets forming and breaking instantaneously on my window, I can't help but be reminded of an incident from my childhood. I thin I was... oh, I dunno, maybe 10 or 11 years old. It was the rainy season and we'd had a whole week off from classes because of the heavy flooding. As usual, the power company had cut off the electricity for the entire town as a safety measure.
It goes without saying that I was stuck indoors with nothing to do. The skies were cloudy and dark, adding to the aura of gloom and doom brought by the rain.
On days like these, I'd stare listlessly at the bubbles of water constantly foaming up on our now muddy, flooded and barely recognizable front lawn. In my mind, I'd imagine these bubbles to be miniature explosions from the energy blasts (raindrops) fired by the evil starships (clouds) in a grand interstellar battle being played out by imaginary mechanized bipedal fighters.
It was during one of these says; an ordinary, seemingly uneventful day, that I met her...

A few rough drawings to help me visualize the characters. Nothing final.
