Re: How far is Too Far
The mere fact that there's a curse word in the title makes it family un-friendly, let alone all the racist things in there. Just because it would have no sex in it doesn't mean it's distasteful.

Re: How far is Too Far
Hm... I think listing a game intended for adults only on the hentai games forum is okay, even if it isn't a hentai game proper. That may be the right choice.

Basically, the normal section is limited to the sort of content you'd find in an R-rated movie. I think that what you're proposing is okay... but you'd better be ready to deal with the crap that's thrown your way.

I guess public release, but with a strong warning (like you're doing here) about offensive content. Let people decide whether they want to download it themselves or not. I mean, if people were willing to play OMGWTFLOL!, I can't see how yours would be much worse. *blink* Releasing this kind of game on Christmas is a little weird, though... *grin*
Or alternatively, you could release two versions - one with the more extreme parts taken out, and a "Director's Cut - Uncensored" version.

Agree. It's always like that. If you want to make all ages, family-friendly ( >cough< Nintendo >cough< ), all-can-access things (game, anime, manga), the content of your creation itself will be severely limited. In the other hand, if you want to go all-out, creative, creating exactly like your heart content, then its audience is the one that severely limited. After all, not-normal game is not for all from the first place (imagine if a kid watch some disturbing movies, not nice... I once was experiencing that, and it absolutely not a nice experience).PyTom wrote:Basically, the normal section is limited to the sort of content you'd find in an R-rated movie. Same things happens here. I can't go all-out with my manga, since there are strong "censorship" spirit in my country. So if you want a manga to be published in my country (especially if you publish it originally in my country), it must be a family-friendly one (no blood, no tobacco, no alcohol, no strong language, not even a slight fan-service). They even considering anti-porn law (meaning you, girls, must cover all your body from head to feet, meaning no skirt, let alone mini-skirt).
Well, if you want to publish your work (which is not family-friendly, but you pour your whole heart into it, doesn't it) then you must accept the fact that it is not family-friendly and there's a big possibility that not everyone could accept it. So let's say by publish it under 'not-normal' section, you have minimized the causalities.

Indeed! I have an excellent loli voice. I also do moans and stuff with pleasure. Would you like some samples?Scout wrote:You should get Cloud to do your voice.
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Re: How far is Too Far
As a Black-Rican-Filipino-American and occasional smoker of j's, I'm now anticipating this game.
Tell your story the way it was meant to be told. Hold nothing back. Fulfill to the fullest possible extent the message you want to send, regardless of how others may perceive it.
However, be cautious. You're describing a game that deals with sociopolitical subject matter that is very strongly rooted in the US's society. How familiar are you with these issues, being a Filipino? It's good to be provocative in a medium devoid of variety, but that doesn't excuse you from being well-informed.
Release the game uncut and unrelenting, but if you need to be made more aware of the complexities of race relations in America and the illegal drug trade, you should brush up on that. Or ask me.
...can I get a pre-release version?
PS: Remember when you posted that create-a-touhou thread on /jp/? Still waiting on Sombrero Loli.
EDIT: A pothead white girl calling a black man a nigga is funny as fuck. The brutha in that situation would be so WTF that he'd walk away speechless. Or with the aforementioned girl's head underneath his Timbs.
