I looked at the first 3 pages and the last one so I dont think this was mentioned.

Photos -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... _resources is pretty handy, some of the links contain non free works but most images have license information attached to a level that normal people can understand.

Careful, there. Fertigo is not free to redistribute, which means you couldn't include it in a Ren'Py game without asking permission.

I like the quote that the COM4t face is demonstrated with. Something to bear in mind for VN developers! ;-)

Music
This site has an extensive library of royalty-free quality music, all you have to do is credit the site/author in your game.
This site has an even bigger selection, HOWEVER if you plan to make money off your game you cannot use it. Just like the other site, you have to credit the author and site in your work. Click on "Free music" off the menu, the rest costs money.
I used both of these for the game music I didn't make myself, and they are EXCELLENT. They don't have that MIDI-ish sound to them either, which is a definite plus.[/url]

MUSIC
http://www.mutopiaproject.org/browse.html
This site, Mutopia, has an extensive listing of sheet music (and good quality MIDIs) for public domain music.
You should probably credit the composer, title, and Mutopia if you use these in your game.
Lots of classical, traditional, and 19th-century music. Jazz and ragtime, too.

http://www.pdinfo.com/link.htm
This site has a list of links to public domain music, in sheet and midi/mp3 form.

BACKGROUNDS
I also recommend searching Wikipedia for both music and images, making sure that they are public domain and also crediting the creator and Wikipedia in your game.[/b]

I am working on making a website listing and categorizing all these sites! I will post the URL when I am done, maybe we can get it listed on the Ren'Py or Ren'ai games site. ^_^

Check the wiki, I think most of it is there now. Just to save you the trouble of reinventing the wheel.

EDIT: Doh. Probably this all along, and I can't find the original link from the wiki.

Much appreciated.

I found some tools for graphists:
Sodipodi, for Windows and Unix/linux platforms, allows to draw vectorial scenes for free.

Pixia, is a free drawing tool that allows you to draw manga style images quite easily (in french).

Foto-Mosaik, is a tool that generates mosaics (not those that cover censored parts heh) from several photos and turn them into a whole image. It is a "postcardware".

The Icon Archive is a collection of desktop icon sets from various authors of over 12,000 high quality icons for Windows, Macintosh and Linux Systems. Windows Vista / Windows XP / Mac OS X / Linux PNG Icons are supported as well as classic icons. Non-commerical icon usage is allowed in most cases. If you want to use icons commercially, you'll have to pay the author of the icons or arrange a special arangement with the author. A lot of icon authors offer stock icon collections and custom design services for this purpose. Visit the author homepages for more icons of the same icon style. You'll find this information on each icon set page.

Thank you Candle, this is a good contribution. (I'm starting to think your filehosting list should be included here as well)
