So yes,this is partially a shameless plug for It Ends With Graduation, but it's also an honest question.

I figure that any VN or game that labels itself as a tribute to anything else should contain the following features:

• Be Free/non-commercial, because it is in at least some ways derivative of something else
• Contain as much inspiration and as many references to the original source material as possible
• Remain true to the original spirit of the creator/source/fandom
• Be free advertising for the creator/source/fandom and introduce new people to that if possible
• Be strong enough conceptually and in execution to stand on its own for those who aren't familiar with the creator/source/fandom

But I'm not sure if there's anything else necessary or not. So I open it up to you, the general public. Is there anything I'm missing?
