Art Asset Alternative?

So I am working on my first game ever. It is romance oriented with a single love interest. I have no artistic ability but I read somewhere that someone used to sims so I have been doing that. I am not sure if I should use the pictures I have taken for the game or just stand ins

The thing is, I am not sure how difficult it will be to find an artist for free because I don't have the money to pay anyone. And I prefer western style art so that may make it even harder.

I attached files of CGs, backgrounds and sprites (though I still need to take out the green screen on the sprites)

Thoughts?

The biggest issue you might have with using Sims screenshots in your final product is that it might be considered copyright infringement. A lot of companies turn a blind eye to free fan works, and Dating Sims seems to have been around for a while without getting a cease-and-desist notice or anything, but it might happen. And if you're using fanmade custom content in your Sims, I would suggest contacting the creators of it to make sure they're okay with you using it in a game.

In terms of aesthetic, maybe you could consider experimenting with some photoshop filters or something to make them look a little different from the original screenshots. It might be kind of distracting to some readers if it's constantly obvious that they're looking at Sims screenshots.

Isn't it okay to use the assets as long as the OP's game is free? And it's their first game too so if the purpose is to get the experience in making visual novel, I say it's okay. Although, the idea of applying filter to the screenshots to make them feel less 'the sims' is good too. There are also free 3D software that you can use as an alternative and some people here in lemmasoft also use them to make their visual novel. Pretty sure you can find some related useful topic about it if you dig deeper.
