Should I continue to develop simple games?

#1 Post by nickjonson »

I have created simple games, but I find it unpopular because the graphics are very simple. Should I develop it more complicated?

I'd think the answer to that question depends on your motivation. Why are you developing games?
Enjoy Eidolon, my free to play game at: https://mutive.itch.io/eidolon, Minion! at: https://mutive.itch.io/minion or Epilogue at: https://mutive.itch.io/epilogue

I tried looking your username up on itch.io to learn more about what games you were making. I couldn't find you there. Are you posting your games anywhere, and if so, could you post a link to where you posted them?

I'm not sure what you mean by "simple graphics". There are games which have gorgeous, hyper-realistic visuals, but there are also many popular games that have simple art styles. Thomas was Alone just uses coloured shapes for its art.

Build the basics first, then add all the fun bits.

Please check out my games on my itch.io page!
