Help in Translations

#1 Post by TalrixTrinity »

I am trying to find help in translating some English into Chinese, Greek, Italian, and more and google is not the best place to go. Does someone know a place that I can go to get help with this? It's not translating the entire game, just come pieces since characters are from different countries.
If you don't struggle you don't improve.

I've gotten short passages translated before, so I have some experience finding translators. I have three suggestions for you.

1) OneHourTranslation - (https://www.onehourtranslation.com)
These guys are best for mid-sized tasks and employ accredited professionals. Has a one hour delivery time (hence the name).

2) ProZ - (https://www.proz.com)
A database of professional translators from around the world. Best for longer tasks (1000+ words).

3) r/Translator - (https://www.reddit.com/r/translator)
A subreddit dedicated to free translation requests. Best for only a few sentences. Filled with helpful, but amateur translators.

You're welcome.

I also recommend you pick a font that supports all those languages. Chinese and Greek obviously don't use the Latin alphabet, so many fonts don't support them. If you ask me, Google's Noto font family is worth a look. It's free to use, supports most of the world's languages, and will help anything look uniform.

Noto Sans with Simplified Chinese: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Noto+Sans+SC
Noto Serif with Simplified Chinese: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Noto+Serif+SC
