Hey guys, I recently raised a milly for my comic book app and wanted to invest roughly 150k into VN development to promote subscriptions and possible streams of revenue on multiple platforms. Primarily it would be for mobile with DRM.
My question is what are the core positions I would need to recruit early? We obviously have writers and original stories. What I am thinking is a develop studio or a program manager that has a LOT of titles under their belt. We would be working on a minimum of 3 VNs at a time and god willing, ramp up from there is we see profitability.
Last year I sold 110,000 copies of my books so I know how to move units.
So please, give me some suggestions on how to build out this department.
Also, this department would be pretty independent. I do not want to have to micromanage it.
Full disclosure, the app is BSP Comics. You can download it on either platform. It is black owned and the overwhelming majority of projects will feature black characters.
Looking to start a Visual Novel department, where to begin...

Congrats on your funding!
My first question would be what do you mean by "recruit"? 150k isn't a huge amount if you're looking to hire full time staff. (Although this is somewhat dependent upon *where* you want to hire the staff. But where I live, 150k would hire maybe 1 full time programmer for a year or perhaps 2 writers/artists.)
