There's a rape scene in one of the story paths. Some of the story paths are appropriate for all ages (or its current rating of 16+), but that one was pretty intense. Especially because the main character just watched, because he thought it was "hot"...

@statesman88: Was there explicit imagery, besides the text? We allow things that are R-rated, so the mention of such a scene wouldn't make it R-18 unless it was explicit (going into a lot of detail with a picture of what's going on). I haven't played the game myself, so I can't really judge...

If a visual novel has 1 choice that has no effect on the plot other than a few lines of dialogue immediately after it, is it a Kinetic novel or a Visual novel?

If it's important then the choice itself is not insignificant and it's a VN.

If it's not important for the story and the player... then why break the whole continuity of the kinetic with just on unimportant choice ?

Genres are always fluid. I'd list it under the kind of player you want to attract and the people whose expectations you think you can best meet. If you listed that as a VN people would probably be frustrated, so I'd go for the KN.

You have a point, however if his story is short one choice make it a VN since some "long" VN like Saya no Uta have a really few choices.
