Re: The new renai.us/games.renpy.org support thread.

#136 Post by CassieHolloway »

I have a blog that will be about English indie visual novel and game reviews and development. While I just started it yesterday, I hope for it to soon be a source of help in finding a new game or for links to various sites with tips and other little known games. While I have more experience with rpg and adventure/action I have opened my genres to other types like fps and mystery. I will attempt to check out most vn’s and games though I do have my limits. Two examples are the BxB/GxG and Hentai. However that can be changed if the idea and story sucks me in.

Overall, the blog will be my views and advice on games that I find as I move through websites. Many of the commercial games have a fan base already established so my goal is help my fellow beginner game/vn creators become more confident in their own work. That being said, I will be honest and not sugarcoat somethings that I think are odd about the game and how it has changed from the original information given. I will do my best not to rant and rave like a lunatic but rather help the creator form their own story while offering the occasional advice. Each review will be broken up in different sections (for example art, originality, etc.)

Regarding the designing and developing both the games and visual novels, I will list my own progress as well as link to a few other people's progress and finished games. Naturally I will ask before doing such a thing.

The blog is here at: http://cassieholloway.wordpress.com/

I must say that I had no idea where to put such a thing so if this is not the right place to put it then can you move it to the proper forum? Thank you and have a good day.

Does anyone want to consider taking over the coding and day-to-day operation of renai.us and games.renpy.org?

I have to admit, I haven't had much time to work on it lately. I can keep paying for hosting, but if someone wants to rewrite the site, that would be something I'd be interesting in having happen.

http://renai.us is now on a new server. Please let me know if anything about it appears to be operating incorrectly.

Excuse me. Followed the link and signed up.
But for some reason the VN Homeward won't work past the intro.
Are there any fixes for it?
Or does it have something to do with how I downloaded it or something.

A bug in an older version of Homeward makes it crash on older computers. The problem should be fixed in the current version. You can download it at:
http://homeward.renai.us/

Or you could just press shift+G during the game to select a different render and see if that fixes the problem.

Hello, I wanted to remove the outdated screenshots posted on the Touhou Mecha entry of the games list and replace them with new ones. However, I only see an "Add screenshot" option. Is there any way I can manage this?

I recently sent in a game I had just finished but still don't see it on the Renpy Games list.
I doubt there was anything that would make people consider it unworthy for upload, so I wanna know if there's some long delay or something going on right now because the last game that was uploaded was over a week ago.

I'm working my way through the approval queue.

Anyone know of a VN called "Сад в раю"? It's in the queue, and has a reasonable description, but the URL is totally wrong.

Hi, I just uploaded my game on the official renpy game site. But for some reason, the screenshots are messed up... only one of them is a screenshot from my game. the other two are from completely random games... how can i fix this?

Please delete Vera Blanc and the Island Phantom (http://renai.us/game/Vera-island.shtml) from renai.us.
The version there (version 3) is not the current one, and I do not wish to upload the current release (version 5)to renai.us.

Very respectfully,
