The style of the character and background isn't so different that it'll be distracting, but the caveat is if you continue to keep the characters and background styles consistent with what you have now.

If you want to make the scene a bit more cohesive, adjust the background to be warmer/more yellow and increase brightness/exposure (it's also easier to brighten a dark image than the other way around).

There are games that use wildly different art styles, but the differences are used to highlight either a shift in perspective and/or to better illustrate what is happening in the narrative. Some examples are games by Daniel Mullins, Nier: Automata (9S's "hacking" minigame) and Undertale (how it's used involves spoilers tho). If that isn't your intention, then the next best thing is to keep bgs, characters and UI consistent within their respective visual asset type.
