My art for a VN I'm working on

#1 Post by linkdragon0 »

I just wanted to post some pictures for a few characters in this visual novel and I wanted to get some reviews on if they're any good.

I've given each character quite a few emotions, I think each has at least 14.

I also want to know if I should make the characters with multiple clothes, since the novel is very long.
The game contains 261 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 3438 words,
for an average of 13.2 words per screen.
The game contains 2 menus.

To copy straight from my Lint, it may not look long but this is about a 20th of the story, not counting the multiple paths.

So I just want some reviews for the characters.

I've seen stick figures used for games so yours is more than adequate. As for multiple choices... what are you going with the multiple choices? Will it actually affect how the story progress (i.e. different storyline depending on what you choose, determine affection points, etc)? Or just because you can have multiple choice, you want to put them in?

I think your characters are very cute and stylistically unique. There's something endearing about them that I don't usually see in the shinier or more "perfect" art. For the purposes of your first game (It is your first game, right? I'm working on my first also...), just be careful about biting off more than you can chew. You don't want to get invested in a large and complex project that may never get finished due to inexperience. Sometimes it's better to set smaller goals for yourself and work your way up to a large project...but I'm not your mother, so do whatever works best for you! :D

It'll work by having multiple choices and your choice determines your path. I even threw in some random little funny ones like poking fun at your friend and choosing clothes, that if you choose randomly he puts on clashing clothes and people stare at him.

This is my first game, and thanks for the compliment on my designs, I planned on it being big from the beginning and I even have someone making music for the game. I'm not sure if I want to give the characters multiple outfits or just 1, more outfits make it more realistic, but more difficult so I'm still trying to decide.

Also here are two more characters for you.

hope you enjoy them.

Also how do you get the "hpunch" and "vpunch" to work?

Everyone loves Anzu.

I guess it's her loli charms, or just the fact she's so cute.

I like her design. I like her personality (whatever it may be).

I hate her name.

I have everything against girls named Anzu. Sorry, it's just that... yeah... Yu-Gi-Oh has affected my life.

I'm going to go buy 3000 yugioh cards now

Hey, I just wanted a cute name, "Apricot" is a really cute translation, so it's staying. XD

I don't want to name her "Momo(ko)" because it's overused and actually pretty masculine sounding.

I know Anzu is the name of one character in Yu-Gi-Oh, and she is hate-able (though I don't really have anything against her).

But the problem is... Anzu is also the name one one character in a particular VN (forgot the title, sorry). And she is very very cuuuuuute!!! >_</b

So in the end... I guess I could like the name: Anzu ^_^

Alright then, I'll try that.

Anyway here is another pic of one of the male characters.

I have 2 more female characters to go and then I gotta start on drawing backgrounds, if anyone is good at drawing backgrounds I'll be thankful for any help you can give me, such as drawing tree leaves (Blech.)

Well, I was going to choose a group of people to test it, but since it's going to be so long I was hoping to be able to sell it for like, 3 to 5 dollars.

It'll definately have replay value too.
