Lovely Doll site

#1 Post by Melkoshi » Tue Jun 15, 2010 8:09 pm

I'm not sure where to put this, but I just stumbled across a really nice doll site that was geared toward avatars.

The F.A.Q stats "5. Can I use a Divine Doll as my avatar?
- Yes! Absolutely! Feel free to do just about anything you want with the dolls, as long as you link back. A lot of people alter them in programs, and I think that's awesome!"

I ... I thought this was spam. Weird, Melkoshi. Weird.
I guess it has a good use as a sprite maker for games. Wish there were more men dolls. o_O

Perhaps because there are more male programmer and males tend to prefer drawing moeh and cute girls (or sexy ones) rather than another males?

Actually, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of dolls on that site (and in general, tbh) are made by girls... in my experience, though, drawing and creating cute clothing for female characters is much easier than for male ones. But hey. :B

That cute! Hmm but it looks like there isnt a large cutomization for the facial feature/emotion/experessions?
I guess it depends on the doll you choose though. The one I saw only had one expression ^^;;

I agree that there needs to be more male doll dressing up games.

After I'm done with my female doll/sprite maker I'm doing a male one. I also did an aristocrat male dressup already that I wouldn't mind people using as character sprites for their games. I've been talking to the Doll Divine owner and she's putting up my dolls once we do some interface changing. Otherwise, they live on my deviantart for now.

They have a nice samurai male dressup on there too.

Oh my god I tried your aristocrat game and it's just so beautiful! I LOVE your costume designs.

The realism was a very nice touch. :D

Thank you, for check them out! ;3 I put extra effort into him and made a lot of customizations options since I know that there's not a whole lot of attractive boy dressups out there.

I've been putting countless hours into my poser characters, with clothes, expressions, face closeup, far view etc for my game.

It would be kind of fun to make a character maker like that.. I have so much content that I haven't actually used, skins, hairs, clothes and who knows what. Mostly female stuff for Vicky/Aiko, but got a decent amount of Michael/Hiro content too.. Of course, most people here prefers drawn art, so I don't know how much interest there would be.

It would also be nice to be able to alter the body shape in the character maker. It requires another set of clothes for each shape, but I think it would be worth it.. :) Muscular or thin or curvy, long or short etc has such an impact on the character's appearance.

Anyway, just some musings. :)
