Character idea C&CC

#1 Post by Dre »

This is the most logical place to put this, so...**

This is a sketch I put together of a character from a game I'm thinking of doing. I really don't do this very often, but I wanted to hear what you think of this character design. Beside the obvious incomplete parts, what could I fix/add to make it better? Is there something you think she could use to improve her look? Do you need a lot more info to know what's going on? I'll leave it at that for now.*sleeps*

I think you might want to strengthen her structure on the upper body and hips. Something in terms of her costume design use to separate her upper body and hip would be good. Other then that, I think the tail seem somewhat out of place. I am not sure what her arm is suppose to do in that pose, so I'll leave it out of the critique. Although the anatomy and footing isn't really relevant at this draft, but I'll put up as somewhat of what I think would improve her look in my opinion.

Hair is very Lain-style ...

Could use a little bit of short hair at the edges of the neck, seems to end a little too abruptly.

Tail should be longer, more noticable, and probably more wavy or curly or something. I didn't even notice it as a tail, thought it was some kind of funky loincloth or something.

Wow, thanks for the comments and structure help, I should do this more often. :D The way you drew out the body makes it look so easy. I had an hard time trying to make it look decent. With that example, it should be easier now! I'll redraw and finalize it with the suggestions given. Thanks a lot!
