What is your favorite fantasy creature?

Well, add angels to the list. Not because I'm religious or anything, but because they borrow power from a truly omnipotent being. That makes them omnipotent also except in rare circumstances. Plus they have white wings. White FTW. Pastels are nice too.

I admit, I am kind of religious (not hardcore), but I am still obsess with angels like you are. (with special powers, wings and all <3 )



On top of that, I am also enamor with faeries of variety XD

I'm not really fond of the stereotypical fantasy creatures, but I love the races/creatures in D&D. I guess that makes me a bit of a hypocrite because a lot of the D&D creatures ARE the stereotypical fantasy creatures xD but they're slightly different! >>;
My favorite creature would have to be MINDFLAYERS 8D They always kicked my ass in Baldur's Gate 2 but they're so freakin' cool.

- I love 'aristocratic' creatures like elvens, dragons, faeries, angels, demons, gryphons, vampires (yeah, vampires. Not Twilight though), phoenixes
- I love 'wild' creatures like werewolves
- I love 'humanoid' creatures like mermaids\mermen, centaurs and spirits
- I love 'strange' creatures like ghosts, doppelgangers, chimeras
- Also I love zombies, 'cuz I really scared of them o___o

You scared of zombies but not others? I think vampires and werewolves are far more dangerous compared to rotted-brain zombies. With shotgun, you could easily dispatch those zombie ^_^

No bones about it (literally?). Zombies would be weaker than a regular human being due to decaying tissue. At max, their strength in life when on an adrenaline rush.

I agree about what's said about the strength(or more like a lack of) that zombies have. xD I do think that, at least compared to werewolves in some way, are more ugly, and therefore, more scary. XD That might just be me though... xD

Well, vampires and werewolves(sometimes) have intellect. We even can talk with them o__o They're have an activity periods. And they are few in number

On the other hand, zombies are stupid, not amenable to persuasion, active both day and night. Also they are numerous D: I hate being in a aggressive crowd

But most importantly, as Elena said, zombies are rotten, ugly and stupid creatures. Arrr, I don't want that kind of death

...unless you have some idiotic organization that equals Umbrella Corporation (of the movie, not the game because I don't know anything about the game UmbrellaCorp) and that gives zombies some form of intelligence and that makes them freakish fast and even deadlier than before. Go ask the Resident Evil Extinction cast...

The problem with making up your own fantastic race is that you have to think about SO DAMN MUCH, their advantages, disadvantages, what makes them different from humans or other, already existing fantasy creatures, why they should be like this or that to help or not help a potential plot...the issues between the new race and the human one (or the other was around), how their way of thinking might or might not change from the way humans think because they ARE different... Actually, not too difficult if you put your herat and mind into it but for my one novel I never finished and canÄt find the beginning of it now I gave up and used normal human-like demons and have yet to figure out all about their race...uhh...I fail?

Otherwise I like...winged, humanoid creatures. Whether they are angels or fairies or somehow related to dragons really depends.
