Custom size of ui elements

#1 Post by Majirefy » Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:57 am

Is there a way to custom the size of UI elements as I wish?
I mean change how big the text button is, and how big the scroll is... And more.
There I have got a clue: Change the size of font I use. But I do not know details. How to change the size of text button and select-bars, and size of scrolling-bars? What's more, and the size of "processing-bars(sorry for my poor English, I mean the bar which controls volume and so on)"?

This thread should really be in the Ren'py Help Help part of the forum people may answer you faster if its in the right folder. But let me see if I can help you out as much as I can because I'm pretty new at it two :).

If you do not know this already, you change the font size in the options.rpy folder:

Code: Select all

## These let you customize the default font used for text in Ren'Py.

    ## The file containing the default font.

    style.default.font = "black boys on mopeds.ttf"

    ## The default size of text.

    # style.default.size = 29

    ##Font color

    style.default.color = "#000000"

    ## Note that these only change the size of some of the text. Other
    ## buttons have their own styles.
I'm not sure about the buttons but I recommend making a styles.rpy folder and creating your own buttons, bars, etc and placing them there. If you do you can control the location of where to but you buttons, bars, etc and also controlling the size of font (I recommend watching the screen positions in the renpy tutorial.)

I'm sure this didn't help much but hopefully it'll give you the right ideas. If you need help from the pros please post this thread again in the Ren'py Help parent folder.

Thanks a lot! I also considered making a new style. But I do not know how...
Then I'll post it again! Thank you!
