The demo is done to the best of my ability/resources except for sprites. Here is part of the reason for the holdup.

I could release it without sprites, but that would feel like a copout after all the effort I put into the rest of it. Plus if I get the sprites done now, it means I've got that completely out of the way and have nothing to worry about but possible CGs later on!

Mocha: The sprites are taking a while, but I'm glad you like them.

Taleweaver: The Genshiken parallel did occur to me a bit after I started work on this. I'm doing my best not to make this seem like a copy though, and the end product'll be pretty Western in tone.

Dollywitch: Thanks! Vectoring in Flash really does wonders, even if you're like me and have to draw with a mouse.

As for a crossdressing/trans character, I think that I would probably tackle the subject of gender/sexuality in a separate VN. I've already decided on the themes for each character's story and it may be overcomplicating things to try and tackle LGBT issues in at least a semi-tasteful manner on top of that.

OP updated with sprites and stats (!!) for the main characters. I have the expression sheets done for all the characters, it's just a matter of drawing/fixing all their poses before I can insert them into the game.

Oh sweet! It's been updated and looking better with progress. About the demo, do you really need one? The game loves great already and you have people already interested in playing it so why not just release the full game. Or......if you just want to make a demo make it short, no more than a day long.

I know all to well how sprites can be a challenge but they are looking nice. Just take your time and let your talent do the work. I guess that answers the question of why VN characters don't change clothes often.

A little more than a week, but I come bearing a demo! Download links are in the OP.

There are three reasons why I wanted to release a demo: to have a more immediate milestone to shoot for, to give a sense of how the characters are outside of the vague idea that OP blurb gives you, and to show how the gameplay works. Especially because this is my first VN, it'd be good to know what works and what works less well before working full-steam on the finished product.

Also, just for kicks, I want to hear you guys tell me who your favorite character(s) are thus far and why.
