Sorry guys. There's no way this will be done by the end of the year or anytime soon.
I'm actually thinking about putting it on hiatus because I have no motivation or time to work on this anymore. D:
My other stories interest me more, and with me being in college now I don't have any high school 'experiences' to draw from like I did with the first game. I'm in the mood to write a more mature story, and as a 'happy high-school story', (P)lanets 2 really... is not it.
Ugh. I know this is a disappointment and I'll finish this someday. I just.. in a way, I regret ever starting to make this game because I never was making it out of my own motivation. I started making it at the request of fans who wanted a sequel, even though I already had plans to start working on Circum[N]avigate. I've been working really hard to please all of you, at the expense of my own happiness unfortunately. It's my fault I'm such a push-over and a people-pleaser x_x;
I had to put (P)lanets 1 on a 6-month hiatus before I eventually finished it, so don't lose hope on this. Just really, don't expect it to be out as soon as the end of the year, because that's definitely not happening.

I would honestly rather play a game, and read the story from something you personally enjoyed working on, than one just to please us. Maybe a break from Planets 2 would help, and you can come back to it with fresh ideas or a new perspective, something to get you engaged in it again. Do what interests you, and makes you happy.

Either way, I look forward to any projects from you, like Circum[N]avigate. ^^

It is quite a bummer, but it's not worth it if you don't enjoy it, kind of like a hollow victory. But don't look at it as a total let down, it actually helped your art, and that will show in your other projects. Even though you might not finish it (which I hope isn't true), it gives you even more experience for your other projects, and it will in turn please everyone (there's your people pleaser aspect).

I will finish it, that is for sure. I refuse to have wasted everyone's time, including my artist's. I just need a break - a REAL break (not just leaving for a week and coming right back, but like, actually putting this project on hiatus for several months).

I actually respect that you've decided to put this project on hold in favor of what could possibly be a more mature work. I've been feeling the same way on writing a high school game at times, and I've been out of college for two years.

It's good that you've decided to be upfront and tell your fans this.

It's alright Teacup, do whatever you want to do. I'm sure whatever you make will be a lot of fun to play and read! I understand, all too well, about needing to go on hiatus (put WWOH on hiatus until Jan.) Sometimes you just need a nice long break, to work on something else, to just take a break, not have to worry about a game for awhile.

It's better to put the game on hold for however long you want, then getting stressed and end up hating this game. Planet(s)2 will be there waiting for you if/when you decide to return to it.

Don't worry teacup, I'm sure everyone would understand. Just like what Omnificient said, it's very brave of you to tell it directly than letting it just hang like that. Beside, it would be more fun to play a game that you develop the game with all your heart, rather than doing it for our sake, but not for your own.

I'm looking forward to any of your game, since I know anything produced by you would be a masterpiece. Good luck!

its fine teacup i mean we all wouldn't be here if we didn't like your works and that also means that we like and appreciate you for goin so far as to not make a game that you dont very much enjoy making so of corse with all the trouble we have put you through we dont mind at all i look forward to playing over all the games that you have already made and playing the games that are yet to come so just have fun and if we get to pushy about somthin just tell us all to hush lol anyway good luck teacup

I'm really glad I have your support~ I would rather be honest with everyone than just let this game slowly disappear without telling everyone why. With that I've put it on hiatus temporarily. I'll return to it someday.
For now I'll work on my other games. Hopefully you can look forward to them!

would love to know what mature story you will be working on.

I'm working on Circum[N]avigate. What I meant by a more mature story is one with older characters, not set in a school setting.

Teacup, do what pleases YOU. :3 I agree with everyone else, I'd rather play something you can put your heart into! I do hope you finish this eventually, but really.. it can wait. I'm also very much looking forward to your other game, perhaps even more than this..? I'm growing up too it seems, after being out of highschool for awhile, things like this lose their luster, huh?
