Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
Continuing my work on rout 1. Wrote a scene where Maielle, Tashen, and Suzu happily make smalltalk about going for a picnic.
I like these light scenes ^_^ It's good for ya.

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
... I actually have one ending planned out. More if you include some simple bad ones where you just get killed somehow, and more still if you include ones I haven't hammered out entirely.
As you probably know by now, I tend to be loose when it comes to this sort of thing. There are going to be quite a few endings- but still, to have one good ending figured out feels good. I thought I'd let you know.
This ending is called
"Beloved Photograph"

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
Today I wrote a scene about Tashen in the school in Vadleen, as well as the picnic scene.
All together, that comes to about 2450 words.
Me going back and fleshing things out more or editing parts out is a possibility, but I thought you'd still appreciate the word count.

Wrote a scene where Tashen, Gassa, Vinu, and Maielle buy groceries and talk about very significant things. I wish I could tell more, but I can't without going into spoilers.
The word count on the scene is somewhere over 1150 words.

Wrote quite a lot this last day.
I wrote about the death of a certain character, a fight, a magical contraption, and a ship.

I wrote about 3800 words today involving a particular dial, gemstone, and a magical room. Discussing time travel and piecing together a dangerous puzzle.

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
The plot reminds me a little bit of LOST from television about survivors of a fated plane crash associated with "bad numbers" and it's surprise ending
that it was all a sort of purgatory/dream thing and they were all dead but they had to come to terms with their deaths.
If you saw it, you'll probably see a few similarities in the concept. Sounds pretty cool though!Current Project:

Thank you very much for your comment, Kate ^^Kate wrote:The plot reminds me a little bit of LOST from television about survivors of a fated plane crash associated with "bad numbers" and it's surprise endingthat it was all a sort of purgatory/dream thing and they were all dead but they had to come to terms with their deaths. If you saw it, you'll probably see a few similarities in the concept. I haven't watched Lost, but I've heard about it and its twist ending before...
It was not my inspiration, but I can see how you'd compare the two of them going off of my project's description. Since I haven't scene it, I can't say how many similarities there are between it and this project, but I can pretty safely assume that they're quite different from each other. Of course, I don't know.
My setting isn't a purgatory setting, but... there is a dead character or two walking around.
...
And I guess if you look at a lot of places in the setting from a certain perspective, they came to be by a strange means, and though in many ways they are still real, them being 100% legitimate could be questioned.
Edit: Thank you again for your interest ^_^- SelLi

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
Hello again. I thought I'd share a picture that I'm working on with you.
I just started doing it one day and it's turning out pretty well. I'm on a new computer since my laptop's fan's stopped working, but I downloaded the Gimp for it. I'm actually just trying to just draw with the mouse for now... and it seems to be working well, surprisingly.
I know it's still hard to tell what's what in the picture so; it's a train station at night, with mountains in the distance. You can see the tracks leading into the distance and an orange warning line on the dock. A person is standing in front of a bench, and there are mountains in the background covered in moonlit mist and such
The person standing there is Suzu. Suzu is commonly at that train station waiting for a particular character to arrive, so I thought I'd start drawing her on the background she'd actually be against.
Suzu still has her blue school uniform on, even at this hour, and is wearing her brighter blue backpack, with her hands around the straps. Her uniform's jacket has cuffs with buttons in place of cufflinks.
Also, she's silhouetted in the moonlit mistyness.
This picture is not supposed to be a CG, as you can probably tell. It's supposed to just be a normal background with a character sprite on top of it.
I hope you enjoy.
It's Canada day! Happy Canada day and happy um... 100th post on this thread I think
I'm going to go eat pancakes
bye~
Edit: My bad, it was French toast.

Updattan.
I had to switch the angle of the bench a little bit to make everything look right.

So many characters! I'm curious to see their art. Haha.
)
I honestly like the 2012 screenshot better, but that's just because the 2014 one creeps me out. It's eerieeeee. Haha. Gives me that Coraline vibe, you know?
For a thriller, I think that's a good thing.
Anyway, keep up the good work! ^^

Looking back at the 2014 one, yeah, it's kind of creepy.
What do you think of the artwork I'm doing now with the train station? Do you like the style so far? I like it better than how Serra looks in the 2014 screenshot AND it's taking less time to make.
Edit: Also, which character would you like me to draw next?

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
I really like train station 2. Hahaha.
The colors are less messy than the first one, which is great. Hahaha.
That's alright! But being creepy isn't so bad either! This is a thriller, isn't it? Hahahaha. Creepy isn't exactly unwelcome in the thriller genre.
But... yeah, the 2nd train station looks better. Well, because it's cleaner, and the colors are kinda better too.
Ahaaa~ I now realize why your BG art looks so different to me. There is no lineart, is there?
Do you already have the art for Tashen?
Hihihi. He seems to me like that wild boy kind of guy, so... yeah. Would love to see him. ^^

Re: The Silent Column [thriller, drama, mystery, spiritual]
Thanks for the suggestion on drawing Tashen, but he's the main character. You can maybe see him in certain parts of the story, but for the most part he's unseen, so I don't really have a design for him right now. You can pick anyone else, though.Ran08 wrote:I really like train station 2. Hahaha. The colors are less messy than the first one, which is great. Hahaha.

Lol he's not a wild guy XD
And I do know what you mean about creepy looking okay, but I'd rather it look nice artistically. If I want to scare you, I'll scare you with something subtle or something in the atmosphere or music, or with a piece of art that's like depicting something scary. For the most part I'd like it to look nice.
And thanks, I like how the train station is coming along, too.
