I sure hope so, though I am trying to keep the characters fairly real. They're not the perfect family but their family is perfect for them you could say. I hope people can associate with the family in a real way.

Thank you! The GUI might end up getting redone before the game's release if it doesn't quite fit the tone... Which is might not. But I still love it and I'm glad others do too!

Looking forward to the completed games, it seems interesting ! ^o^

EDIT : I took a glance to the summary (haven't read all the comments here), IMO the idea is very interesting ! Can't imagine my mum become a hero..heheee. The text box is so cute ! I have no idea to the gameplay though, beyond my understanding of VN (because I'm really newbie here, don't understand sort of code might've been used) but keep working hard !

After working on SINTNOL for a while and then coming back to this game, I realized I didn't like Claudette at all or the style I used for the sprites. I feel like I rushed way too much and didn't give them the love they deserve. So, here is me in the middle of reworking sprites. This is the new Claudette, which much more closely resembles the concept sketch I made.

Hi everyone! Been reworking a lot. The sprite I just posted, I already deleted. I can do a couple of styles and I haven't actually chosen one yet. @_@ Claudette's appearance has already changed again, for the third time!

The rest of the game is changing too. More script is written, and I finally decided on an overall theme for the GUI which is a night sky with stars. The Doodle Box is out! I'm also using NVL mode dialog for the more text-heavy scenes with lots of description. Also, working on bgs!

What are you using to make the backgrounds? It looks really nice so far.

I'm using 3d imports in Manga Studio EX 4. So they're not super original, haha! But for a first game, I really wanted to have nice backgrounds and I don't really know how to do them just yet.

Manga Studio has some amazing 3d objects you can spin around however you like and then you trace/ink into your picture. The only thing I added were the pictures on the fridge and some other obvious things.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely coloring it. Just not quite there yet, hehe. I hop around a lot on the project from art, to GUI stuff, to coding, to writing the script.

Updated the first post with the lineart for the title screen! Now I just have to figure out how to program it.

I like Claudette in her knight's outfit! It's so cute. I think I should make it an unlockable costume. Would people be interested in unlockable costumes for Claudette and her children and if so, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm alright with whacky ideas too, as this game should be lots of fun!
