Thank you, try10 ^^

Balon's outside outfit sprite and Crane's sprite have been updated. I should have the rest done tomorrow which means aside from facial expressions, the sprites will be done~ They also have alternate poses, and outfits, but... i'll save those for a surprise when the game is released. :3

Also, I thought it would be good to let you guys know that my fellow team members at Red Inc. have taken over writing/editing, programming and music! I'm really, really excited now :D . Plus with help this project will take a significantly smaller amount of time to release. (Also the writing will be way better, because to be honest, my writing skills are pretty... blegh.)
We set a rough timeline for 3 months. I'm not sure how it will go at this point, but i'm going to do my best to meet that~!

So I was wondering, does anyone know of a different way to save sprites as a transparent png without quality loss?
I've never had this problem before, but for some reason for the Stirling sprites i'm ending up with all these little white lines all over... almost like the lineart is transparent in some places, but I know that can't be the case because I have a solid layer under the sprite to prevent it >_<

I don't know if it's some sort of loss of quality or something? (Because i'm switching between sai and photoshop so much? I have no clue...)
I've just been using the 'save for web and devices option' in photoshop so far.

I'm thinking it's because you used bucket tool (especially on SAI), leaving some part not colored.
Can you show a psd file of your sprite so I can have a clearer image of what is going on?
I can't guarantee I'll be able to fix it but it's worth a try.

Another way is to make your underneath solid layer black.

Hmm... I would agree with you, but unfortunately the bucket tool isn't the culprit OTL

I took a screencap at 100% of the PSD, and there isn't any white showing... and also the layer that I circled is the solid layer you mentioned to add. All of the sprites have one, but somehow there are still those odd white lines >_<

I'll have to try some other things. I guess if worst comes to worst I can recolour the sprites in photoshop only to see if that might help fix the problem... though i've never had this problem with SAI before, so i'm really not sure what's going on. Ugh...

I normally don't save my png file by save for web and devices option unless it's gif file.
Is there a reason why you don't use normal save as png file?

another way is combine all the layers and save as psd file in sai, go back to photoshop to save as png. >.<

Hmmm, that's odd. Are you saving at PNG-24? I don't have any problem when I do it. Though it could be going from Sai to Photoshop (I'm presuming that you are saving a PSD from Sai and then opening it up in Photoshop?). Though it would probably be best to get advice from someone who works in Sai, like Deji >_>

I... actually had no idea regular png saving could do transparency o_o;
The web and devices save is out of habit... the version of photoshop I started on couldn't do transparency any other way, eheh.

Yeah I was saving as png-24...

But alas! Thank you for the help ;_;
I can't believe I didn't think of it before, but I tried flattening everything before saving like you said, bunbun, and it fixed everything @_@

Sprites are all updated! Now with some textures and 100% less ugly white lines X'D

Auric's headshot things are done~ (updated in the first post~)
And all the sprites are done 100% except for Caelor @_@; (goddamnit Caelor this is all your fault why are you so hard to draw) XDD

Also!
guiwip1.png
Text box for GUI. I'm just fooling around right now so it probably won't stay looking like that, but hey, I think the general design sort of works :3
I've never worked on anything remotely GUI related before, so it's really just trial and error right now >_>

AND!
The first post has also been updated with the new logo, courtesy of ShojiAmasawa~ (his stuff is so nice ;_; )

I'm just going to say, Balon is mine, everyone else back off.

I really like the GUI design. It seems to fit the rest of the game really well, all icy and clean. I also like the shape for the side sprite. Good job :)

As it turns out, we've decided to change the resolution to widescreen, so I have to redo the GUI anyway XD BUT ALAS!
Our programmer sent me a short (like 2 sentences lol) demo with the graphics we have so far and i'm pretty much freaking out with excitement ;A;

Also, just updating to say the sprites are now 100% done (for the first part of the game at least, there are still a couple of characters that need to be done for the paths, but they can wait for a little bit)~
Background and CG time, here I come!

Also, if anyone didn't see it (I figured I might as well post here, so this post isn't just me talking like a complete spazz), I did some promo art:
balonauric-promo.png
I'm going to try and do a few more pictures when I can, mostly to promote on DA, because you know, drawing is always fun~
Should the next one be Caelor and Auric, or more of a group picture? Or maybe Crane and Estheros, ahaha.

I should go sleep...

That promo art is lovely <3 Looking forward to this a lot! Good luck~

I have to confess though when I scrolled through the sprites on front page...when I first saw Crane I hallucinated and somehow thought he was wearing a santa hat. I know I'm wrong but now I just can't unsee it!
