Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
I'm quite interested on the premise. I wish there's more explanation to the story and more... personality to the heroine than being an average otome protag.
Personally I don't mind little romance as long as the story is intriguing enough to keep me reading.
Also~ The art looks good, hope to see more updates soon!

XD
No worries!
The heroine isn't going to be your average otome protag.
Her description is from her own point of view, but honestly she'll have a personality. I've added a little thing above her description to make it more clear.
After all, to survive through a twisted psychopath's game and have time to woo people you'd need to be more than your average teenage student.
I've also added a bit more to the story. I'm not sure how much I'm meant to add though, in fear that I'll spoil things. ><
Also thanks, I shall work hard.

Certainly sounds potentially interesting. I do enjoy a bit of dark.

Ohhh, this is cool! Heh, the main girl's description of herself clearly shows she has tons of things to hide. I'm curious.

Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
This is one of my favorite kinds of ideas. The story sounds a bit thin, but all we have is a very basic summary at this point so knowing more about everything would give me something more to comment on. But you have my attention.
I'm all for romance, but I lean toward the suspense aspect myself. The art seems a bit eclectic (different styles or difference stages of completion, with Crowe standing out quite a bit), but not bad.
Overall, I would like to see where you go with this.

This looks promising! I like the premise and I'm really curious about the protag. Seems like an interesting chick. Can't wait to see more of this game, I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it.
Good luck with your project!

You had me at Psych and Thriller.
I couldn't resist :3
That being said, the premise sounds very intriguing. Looking forward to it

This definitely caught my attention. Mystery+romance+survival game HERE I COME! Your art is really unique but I wonder how the backgrounds will look.
Good luck with your project!

It looks very interesting and probably more suspense but romance is still good I'll be following this oh and the art looks great

Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
@papillon
Indeed, I like my fair share of dark too. :3
@Kirroha
Yup, she does hide her fair share of information about herself like the other characters.
@Blane Doyle
Hmm, I'll probably add more to the summary when I've written more of the script then.
Yeah, the art is different due to different stages of completion. The finished product will be more like the sprite at the very bottom of this post.
@Veniae
Thanks!
@destiny_921
neither could I :3
@try10
Still working on the backgrounds. ><
Backgrounds are by far the hardest thing for me to draw. =A=;
@lilyrose
Thank you.

Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
This sounds a bit similar to Death Rule: lost code, but with a different cast. Though there are a lot of other stories in which people are thrown into a deadly situation, dating at least as far back as the 1924 short story The Most Dangerous Game. This resemblance is not necessarily a problem. Just think about some ways in which your specific VN/game will stand out.
Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
@Veniae
Thank you.
@gekiganwing
Oooooh, that VN looks interesting. *A*
Yeah it does sound similar to this one. ><;
However, I shall try my best to make this interesting and stand out as much as I possibly can! :>
Also, progress so far:Hahaha.... still so much to dooooo TT.TT
Art-wise.
Four sprites, two backgrounds and two cgs done. Still working on the interface. ><
The cgs are obvious spoilers, the other background is also a bit spoiler-y and the fourth sprite is just of an irrelevant minor character.
Thank you.

Also, progress so far:
Code: Select all
Statistics:
The game contains 1104 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 5080 words,
for an average of 4.6 words per screen.
The game contains 14 menus.
Art-wise.

Re: The Water Mansion (romance,psych,thriller)[fem. protagon
What I find best when making things with a similar premise to other works is to read/play/watch them to figure out what makes them unique and find a way to make yours stand on it's own. I believe even though it is stated as outdated, playing the demo for DR would be a good idea for now.
I always do "research" like this when I come up with new ideas to see what other similar works have done so that I at least don't accidentally stick to close to them in one way or another. Since "everything has already been done", I find this very effective in finding out what does and does not work and what cliches in the genre to avoid or play around with. At worst it makes me worry about making my premise "more unique" (I get over it eventually), at best it gives me a lot of material and entertainment to work around. (And just entertainment in general, of course.)
