Soz... I am new to this forum and new to visual novels also .

I am currently working on my first visual novel , its a hentai parody....

Here are some of the screen shots which I have completed making.






So far so good the story starts with a boy having a strange dream where he meets the god...

I am having trouble in customizing the dialog boxes of the game and also how can create splash screen with statements stating the disclaimer before the menu appears ??? I am making my game in renpy.

I also need some fx sounds of doors closing slapping etc...
still recording all those things is gonna take time.
And I don't have any music for the game till yet
But considering its a one man project, and its just simple practice game it should turn out fine.

I certainly hope you'll find someone or make your own images for your parody game. Also may I direct you to rule 12 of our forums:

12.) Adult Content
Threads containing adult content must be placed in the adult sections of the forum.

a) Adult content includes - but is not limited to - explicit sexual activity, depictions of sexual nudity, and extreme gore. The forum administration may enforce an expanded definition that matches their sense of what adult content is. Censored depictions of adult content remain adult content.

b) This restriction is applied to the content of the threads, rather than the content of the game under discussion. We allow the discussion of an adult game in a non-adult thread, as long as the discussion itself remains non-adult. Direct links to adult downloads or images should be placed in the adult section.

c) Adult games must have an adult thread before any non-adult threads are created. This is to provide the forum administration with a place to move adult posts to.

hmmm..... do I have to ??? I am just practicing how to work with renpy ,also how to use python over it before I could work on any graphics.
It wouldn't be fair if I wasted some artists work just because I don't know how to work with renpy

Not necessarily. But it's really recommended. (You'll get the stink eye by everyone if you just 'borrow' everything)

If it's a Hentai parody, I suggest making your own drawings, like some badly drawn booby ladies and 2 feet loli girls.

See, I made this in picture in 5 minutes using only Paint. It's not the best thing in the world but it's art none the less. Someone out there is bond to love it, I suggest giving your artistic skills a try.

And if it is a 18+ game, this should really be put in the adult section.

The games themselves don't have to be segregated now, only any 18+ pictures.

I understand the want to use found pictures to practice using Renpy. I would watch out for releasing it though. Maybe just find a group of friends to look through it. Copyright can be (understandably) touchy around here.

For my game I have been practicing with "dummy" art.

It also is a great system because once my artist gets the art done I can just insert it in the folders and BAM, done!

As far as customizing the dialogue box and other menus here are a few things I found helpful:

I would use these as much as you can! It will be a bit overwhelming at first, but try to write the code yourself as much as you can and then if you have issues hop over to the Question and Answer section, plop your code up there with all your questions and what is going wrong...

And people will be glad to help. Try not to just ask questions that have been asked a million times. The search function on lemma is really super helpful.

For a splashscreen here is what I did-- At the start of your script code put this at the beginning of your splashscreen code:
or whatever. It will come up before your start menu. I have a little animation at the beginning of my game.

Not "everyone" will give you the 'stink eye' for using borrowed resources. Not that many folks here play hentai games. If you look in the completed adult games section here, you'll see relatively low activity, compared to the 'regular' completed games section. .
On borrowed resources, check the end user license agreement that the creator posted. Some creators specifically prohibit using their artwork.

As you may already know, Cyber_alchemist, parody can be defined as "...an imitative work created to mock, comment on or trivialise an original work..." (from the current Wikipedia article on the topic). Both parodies and comedies can be difficult to write, and there are plenty that don't succeed. If you're experienced a parody which does not offer much other than pop culture jokes, or which displays a lack of insight on the original work, then you know what I mean.

The images in your first post are from "Cosplay Fetish Academy," which is a humorous adult VN. If you want to parody a specific VN or game, then you may benefit by referencing one that takes itself very seriously.

True , I am having difficulties in making a parody out of it, but if it doesn't go well .... well then I will switch to making a full fanmade hentai game , and the pictures is not from "Cosplay Fetish Academy" o.o

As a matter of fact I was looking for the end user license agreement. Unfortunately it's official English site is down. I am looking for its other sources check it....

Thanks for the advice I will look through the old posts before I ask questions relating to it.
And I am not sure of releasing it though. Not unless I would check out its copyright thoroughly.
But... I just wanted to release it in small community to get its response/critics of my writing and use of python in renpy, before I could start writing any of my original VN

Hmm.....well, my artistic skills are okay on paper but on computer its different story... I will try get a artist if i would do a serious release on my VN.
