I've had some negative experiences with games that focused on tasteless comedy and constant profanity. I believe it can work. But at the same time, I think you'll benefit by making sure you pay attention to characterization and plot. I don't think you want to end up with a story which is just vulgar comedy, and shallow in other aspects.MudkipTheDestroyer wrote:It will have lots of jokes, swearing, and maybe some vulgar images.
First off, thanks a lot for your interest in the game.gekiganwing wrote:Will the player be made aware of statistics and variables? In other words, will there be on-screen text saying things such as "Your Intelligence has increased by 1" or "Your friendship with Bob has increased by 1"?
It's not a bad idea to use a lot of stats. If you want to create a short story with many branches and options, that's fine. Just as long as they're easy to understand. Improving them should not be a matter of random chance or constantly saving and loading.
About your second question, the game certainly has a lot of humor, and since it was made by teenagers for teenagers, it shows. “Vulgar” is kind of a strong term, and I won’t deny it because it was just made for fun and entertainment and is meant to be pretty lighthearted, but I don’t think that the “raunchiness” of some of the characters’ personalities will really jeopardize the plot or story.gekiganwing wrote: I've had some negative experiences with games that focused on tasteless comedy and constant profanity. Ha, thanks~! Yeah, it's definitely really different from most of the VNs on here, and I was thinking that it might be TOO different for people to actually like it. However, I'm glad that's not the case and that there are actually people looking forward to it^^ Cody King's definitely a fun path to go down, I started it yesterday and I think I'm going to get his actual input on how he would like it to turn out. Also, if you like him enough, he mentioned possibly making an account on here in the future, so you might have the chance to talk to "the real thing" XD hahaWhitePuma wrote:It looks really interesting. I've been doing the vn thing for a while and I gotta say this looks special to say the least. I'm really interested in this "Cody King" guy. I think I'll be going down his path first when released. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!!
Wow, thanks very much!! It means a lot to have somebody who's a "regular" to my novels, especially because I'm just starting off and I singlehandedly do all the work for my projects .-. lol. I hope you enjoy playing this and continue to play my future VNssilverpikachu99 wrote:First of all, i want to say that i absolutely LOVE your vns!
