Here is my looooong post~ (You don't have to read everything, like a lot of French, I tend to write a lot for nothing xD So just Focus on the Main Points)
First, I'd like to tell you that the art attracted me here (Or brought me here...) The caracters are all super handsome, and I already have a crush on the red-headed dude (The Tsundere I guess ? ><) I can't wait for the preview !!! If you need anything, I'll be glad to help~
I'll be stalking you from now on^^
Heu...
@Didules: Actually there are some malls in Paris xD
I usually go to "Les Halles" and near Châtelet you know ? And there's even one near Bibliothéque François Mitterand. (And they are not expensive, the cinema is even
really cheap at BFM for students, and there are shops like H&M or New Look etc)
But correct me, if I'm wrong:
As for the Metro and RER, the first one comes every minutes the morning and evening (And still it is always so crowded you can't get in, get off and have high chances of falling xD), and every 5minutes the rest of the day. The later is always late or supressed, and I often have to run when I get off from the metro. (
Though, if the heroine lives in the center of Paris, she doesn't need to take the RER, since most of the lines takes you out of Paris).
Usually
students have a Card to use Transports, because buying tickets everyday is pretty expensive.
And only student from some private schools have to wear uniforme (Usually there's a dorm too then). Even at Louis Le Grand or Henry IV (Two schools where you usually go from elementary school 'till prep school) they don't wear uniforms.
Here
I agree with Didules:
At Lunch, when I was in High school, I'd usually go eat outside, and often it was so crowded that we'd have to take our meals (
Sandwich from a nearby bakery, mini-pizza, kebab, hamburgers, pasta etc) and eat at a nearby bar. (With babyfoot and billiard)
That's where we spent our time when a teacher was absent.
But you know, sometimes we'd also spend it at the library, on computers or just among the books (homeworks~). Some people would just stay in front of the next class door or in the next classroom if there's no class, if they finished eating. When the weather allowed it, we'd stay on the yard in the grass.
The rest of the time, I'd go to the
cafeteria, and the menu wasn't anything special:
Salade or Cheez + Meat or fish + Some vegies + Yogurt or Fruit or Ice cream. Water only. Only at the canteen we order the 3 course, since we pay for it anyway. But outside it's only the main course and rarely a drink (Mostly Coke or Icetea if you want to know what's the most popular x)
And you absolutly HAVE to add
strikes !! Every year (When I was in Highschool) we would all eagerly wait for the strikes !!! Because it means you won't be able to go to school or be late and be excused !! And it will also mean that even if you arrive in time, the school's gate will be blocked by a crowed of students and sometime teachers. And even if you eventually manage to get to class, the teacher might be absent (Either transports either outside blocking the gates xD)
It's no violent though. The aim is to block the entrance (This is why it's called Blocus). And it happens Twice a year (Almost a kind of tradition xD)
The transport strikes however happen much more often. And sometime you'd have to stay 'till very late at the station waiting for a train, or trying to get in a bus (which are crowded and almost impossible to get in of course)
(During winter and around March)
So you have to remember:
Lunch break: 1h30 minimum.
School: From 8:30 am 'till 18:00pm (Though sometimes you can even only have 2hours/day)
Sports: Girls usually prefered Basketball/Dance/Handball/tennistable. Boys would prefer the groups of Rugby/Football/tennistable/badminton. But everyone had to participate in Athletisme and we'd all go for musculation because... easy marks (You have to chose 2sports+Athletism to be evaluated in during last year for the Baccaloreat about which your whole highschool life is xD).
I think you should read about how the schools work in France. It's quite different from the rest of the world as usual -_-"
Strikes: Often disturbing transports
Blocus: Twice a year (3days or a whole week) school blocked by the student members, some followers and some teachers. Other schools participate too and join the others in front of the main school)
We eat anything, anywhere xD
(And if no one checks the French sentences, just don't put them. It's really ridiculous, and I always feel embarassed for the author when I see someone who's french is "amazingly fluent" when it's actually not. You know ? Like in Dramas or Anime )
EDIT:
About Wine: As teenagers, me and my friends could only drink wine on great occasions (New years, birthdays, Christmas, family gathering, etc) we weren't allowed to drink wine everyday at diner with the adults, you see.
About the names: I really like them, even though they don't sound French. (All of the caracters don't have to be French anyway). Did I already say that the art was cute ?
