the backgrounds are still placeholders ~ bgs are being drafted to specifications at the moment.. Yep, the outside climate has little to substantial effects on the inside climate (i think I need to place a warm cup of water inside a freezer). As for the clothing... well I'm yet to procure. I mean commission for the "coated" outfits. ~ welp I admit that the project's lacking a lot of assets to make the setting more realistic.

^Ah, I see. That clears things up! Still, the summary sounds very interesting and I want to see where this VN will go! I really think the "winter" part would be an awesome aspect to build more up from, especially if the cast is fighting for survival. Like I keep picturing if one of the domes broke/shattered/cracked after a battle or external issue, causing that part of the city or building to fill with snow to obstruct a character's pathway or even open a new battlefield. It could go in all sorts of great directions.

I'd say the 1st one? 'Cuz personally the 2nd one doesn't look much like snow >_< But if the snow in the 1st one could be a little bigger it'd be nice!

30px snowflakes look pretty good! Is there any way to add in small dots as well, though? I think that would look better -- snow falls more in clumps, so you wouldn't be seeing individual flakes all the time...

The setting has got me intrigued and I'm interested in seeing how living in domed city-states will affect the "school dating-sim" angle of the VN. The GUI looks nice: minimalist and clean. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the notes / skills / stats screens, though -- the "submenu" buttons (near the bottom) are kind of awkwardly-placed. They look a bit squished together.

this screen uses 11 different snow sprites... it lags when there are changes in the window itself.

8/10 adverse changes as the game progresses. I'll try replacing the submenu buttons with circular(maybe square) imagebuttons with icons but no text, and a tooltip. Hopefully that fix should save some space and keep things less crowded.

It's my undergraduate thesis. It's one final requirement to complete my bachelor's degree. >.< That's why I have to finish this game... I can't graduate without this. :oops:

SHORT UPDATE

I've been posting things in the blog but then again things need to be reported here too. So the background designs are finished, and are to be cleaned and colored within two months. To give readers a glance of it:

Anyway I added a "setting" section in the first post, condensing the history between mankind and sprites. Sprites as in magical beings. Well we have one hybrid in the cast, though she isn't really born in the Antarctica, but rather in Germany. Well this multinational/multispecie setting is also present in my other WIP, which runs in parallel with this project.

Hi, here for a few updates related to recruitment and stuff.

Recruitment thread is here, it's going to close in a few more hours. To be honest we barely got any applicants. ;_; had to contact artists instead.

A comprehensive asset inventory was done earlier tonight. The project has 11 Characters, 56 of 77 Expressions are

So I was accidently stumbled on this and thought it looks pretty neat and well thought out. Though I'm not such a fan of the gui but I do like the black gui since it looks pretty and clean :) I love dating sims too and am wondering how everything in this game will work out ^ ^
