Demo 0.1 contains the first two chapters.

This is based on an incomplete story I started writing a while ago, which can be read here.

The story takes place in the distant future, long after the extinction of humanity. A lonely android named Phi drifts through the vastness of space in an abandoned spaceship. She has long given up hope of ever seeing another intelligent being, and is even considering ending her own life.

With the release of a mysterious new technology, known as the Time Dilation Field Generator, used for instantaneous space travel, many humans line up to test the device. For some reason however, instead of being teleported through space they are teleported to the distant future.

The story begins with the meeting of Mars and Phi. The first half of the story mainly revolves around these two characters and their interactions.
In the second half of the story however it becomes apparent that a dark truth lies hidden in Phi's subconscious. She begins to remember why she was built, and fights against it with all her will.

There will probably be two paths, with multiple endings for each.

Characters

Phi
Age: very long time
The main protagonist. Phi is an android built for unknown purposes.
Not even she knows why she was made, nor why she was never completed.
She's very knowledgeable on all subjects except her own past.

Mars
Age: 21
Instead of entering college Mars decided to join the military and became a pilot during WWIII.
Since Earth was becoming an increasingly hostile place he was trying to raise money to relocate his family.
When he was chosen to test the Field Generator, he gladly accepted.

Isaac
Age: 16
Before Isaac came to the future, despite his young age,
he was a university student studying robotics.
Now he has used his technical genius to secure a high position in the new society.
He is the president of the largest trading corporation.

Venus
Age: 19
Venus is Mars's sister.
She followed Mars to the future after she heard about his disappearance,
and competes with Phi for his affection.

Oh wow, another VN about an android! (Sorry--I just posted on a thread with an android in it, and I was pretty hyped about it...)

Phi was considering suicide? So her mind's more or less human? I mean, for an android to have concepts of 'death' and 'life' sounds pretty heavy to me... The summary you've provided us HAS piqued my interest. I've always loved sci-fi, and to see a VN about this makes me happy.

The art also appeals to me. Makes me think about my beloved GBA xD

Oh, and good luck on making your first VN! And you're doing it alone? I'm cheering for you (: I really hope you finish this--this sounds like it will be a good game to play. The story and art assets, as I've said, appeal to me very much.

So her mind's more or less human?

Her mind is quite human-like in a sense that she can feel human-like emotions.
Aside from that though her mind is quite inhuman. The way her memory works for example is more similar to a traditional computer, where she can only forget memories by intentionally deleting them. (Although I suppose it would be possible for someone to forcibly delete her memories, or for the data to become corrupt if the hardware becomes damaged.)

Anyways, here's a CG I made just now:

This is a part of the "Time Dilation Field Generator." It's a sleep cell which protects the user during the warp.

That CG looks good, and I think it would mesh quite nicely with those sprites you have there. I'm really cheering you on for this project--this looks like something I'd REALLY enjoy playing. Keep it up! (: I'll be keeping my eye on this thread (stalking it, more like).

Introducing Marianne:
Age: unknown
Mars first meets Marianne where she is working on a mining planet along with her gigantic friend whom she calls "bear".
She has a cheerful personality, and always speaks respectfully.
She reappears later on with a more important role in the story.

The reason the shading style in this sprite is a bit different from the others Is I'm using a different program now.
I was using paint.net, and now I'm using Gimp, which seems to be more friendly toward my tablet.
I might decide to go back and touch up the other sprites if it stands out too much.

Wow, an update! I like this shading style better than the others'. And that lace at the hem of her dress is a nice touch.

I might have just now uploaded a demo.
It's pretty short though, be warned, it's just the first two chapters.

I've updated the old sprites with the new shading style, and I've also set up a website.

Also, here's a new character. His name is Baron.

I'm working on redrawing the backgrounds so they aren't 3D anymore.

I played the demo, and I must say: I really like what you have so far. The story looks like it's going to be pretty epic, and there's also a good amount of choices to make. Your UI is really nice, too.
