Re: Athena [sci-fi, short, female protagonist]
Thank you Those are some good suggestions. I do agree all grey would be a bit blah, so I might try different saturations, or possibly a different colour scheme. Thinking about it though, this would be a great way to do interactive backgrounds, I'll have to keep that in mind for the future!
Made progress on Eliana's sprite! Should be able to get her done by the end of the week~

I'm still working on her emotions, but here is what she will look like:
I think her poses will get lost as a side sprite, but oh well. Good to try at least, and it would be weird if she didn't change at all. I'm still working on what her placement and size will be, this is just a quick mock-up.

Re: Athena [sci-fi, short, female protagonist]
Finally finished up Eliana... yeah, I know, that took a while. Have a freaked out Eliana.
I made some minor edits to the GUI. I though Eliana blended in too much so I used the GUI to make her stand out a bit more, changed one of the icons into something less confusing, added in a click to continue and added in some extra screens. I think I might keep the yellow in the background, but be careful with contrast and everything... I've handed over most of the files, but I still have to do the main menu and extra screens. Going to start on the last sprite now, Eliana's younger version, so hopefully I will have some sketched to upload later
*EDIT:
And some sketches for her younger sprite. She is intentionally meant to look like she hasn't had a good hair cut in quite a while. She is also meant to appear more expressive than her older version.

Younger Eliana is almost done, just have to finish her emotions (and fix up that last pose a little). I should make my end of month deadline! December is going to be kind of crazy for me, but I will be starting on backgrounds~

Baaaaackgrouuuuuunds~
Man, I could mess around with colours forever. Probably will mess with it a bit more to match the characters better. This took me around... 3 hours I think, maybe 4.
I've moved now, but things could still be a little slow since there are quite a few things going on and I've been going out waaaaaay more than I usually do XD BUT, a busy life tend to make you more productive anyway, so that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Love the character designs and concept! Looking forward to the finished production (and would be happy to beta-test / proofread).

@Qirien, Thank you I will keep you offer in mind!
@Duskylli, sorry for the late reply. I, ah, have tried before, but at the moment I'm pretty uncomfortable with it. I've also found I'm pretty uncomfortable with recording too. I become over aware of everything and I do stupid things DX Maybe if I practice with recordings I'll eventually get used to it?
December was a really crazy month for me, for more than one reason. But I'm looking to get back into all my art in the New Year, including my backgrounds!
I'm still not 100% with the colours, not sure what I'm doing in that department...

I first saw that bg from your DA page and as usual your BGs never fail to make me drool...
Everything about this screams "awesome". I'm sooo looking forward to this.

@Khnachi, thank you It makes me very happy to know you think so <3
This is the Atrium. It's a place of peace and relaxation that is meant to remind the researchers of Earth and stop them from going stir crazy from being locked indoors. The glass has the added benefit of being able to mimic the Earth's sky and provides Vitamin D, as well as protecting the researchers from harmful space radiation.
le sigh. Why are outdoor areas so easy to do in comparison to interiors -.-

Auro!! hahaI'm redoing the backgrounds because I hate myself. Yup.
Looks good, though. I guess that's the problem with redoing stuff... you can see improvement, so there's positive reinforcement.

It's the only rational reason as to why I would do this to myself!saguaro wrote:Auro!! hahaI'm redoing the backgrounds because I hate myself. Yup.

But yes, I am happier with it Especially the colours~ I picked up some new techniques while working on Taarradhin so I'm putting them into practice here. They compliment the sprites much better now!

Another background down. Lucky I had only done 3.5 of these, so redoing them isn't so bad
