We don't have a final price yet, but it won't go higher than 14.99$ and not lower than 4.99$.briannavon wrote:What is the age rating of this game and how much will it cost because I WILL buy it!
We may have a poll about it while consulting the experts in the industry too since we're relatively a new startup group.
The age rating of the game is r13+ more or less.
Thanks , I'm glad that you're looking forward it!asatiir wrote:Space ship battles? That's something I'm looking forward to! Art looks great too.

Re: Sierra Ops[Sci-Fi] 10/13/2013 - Overworld
In every mission in the game, there's always an overworld map mode where you can navigate freely using the Sierra in top down view. There are ongoing battles which you can aid or ignore, or Ares fleet who are either guarding a certain point and may pursue you upon your arrival. There are stations to repair your ship or supply depots to gather resource units. There are also confidential log files in a few places like abandoned ships/satellites which may help you know more about the war situation itself or... Something else.
As for the game aesthetics, I'm also thinking of making the eyes, mouth and arms animate, but I'm not sure if the readers actually care about those details and are considered needless work. What do you think guys? Are those 'features' huge polished points for you? We have the gameplay as one of the main features itself already and I think we should rather focus on that + the story.

You probably don't need the animation on the eyes an mouth. Mostly because not many people notice that. That's just my opinion though, I myself sometimes forget when a sprite is animated in a VN-styled game.

Re: Sierra Ops[Sci-Fi] 10/25 to 11/8 - working on alpha nons
We've made up our minds; we'll have the eyes animated at least. It won't consume the production time, hopefully. I just thought that the design is in sync with the ships' glowing/breathing lights feature in a way.megatuga wrote:You probably don't need the animation on the eyes and mouth. Hi guys, we've been working non-stop on the, and there were quite a number of updates.
A new(animating) title screen

Completed the VN portion of the alpha - expressions and such

A tumblr - http://helrouis.tumblr.com/
Well you can always check our whiteboard to see what's up - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GF4 ... Jk5EQ/edit (warning, it's a team whiteboard, there may be occasional native language there lol, and LOTS of typos)
Last November 16 , Admiral Styles, our writer has finished the draft for Claine's arc, which is the first release of the game.
Also, this is how we do our writing - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BZT8BUgCYAAmm02.jpg:large
so it may take time for the whole arc to be finalized.

Planet Mars - Hellos Capital Region
The Confederacy’s Declaration of War

"Everyone here knows the truth: that we have been abandoned by our home planet."
"That we have been neglected. Ostracized. Exploited."
"For over two hundred years, we have been abandoned, with scarcely an ounce of support or aid from our home world. "
"Forced to constantly refill their supply ships, to feed their ever increasing hunger for more colonies."
"And what did we receive in exchange for our blood, sweat, toil and tears?"
"Empty promises, and the chains of eternal servitude around our wrists."
"Are we to forever play the role of a beaten dog, who quakes in fear at the sight of his cruel master?"
"I say that we will not."
"I say we will fight, and take what is rightfully ours!"
"Our home. Our freedom. Our humanity!"
"Today, we cast off our chains."
"No longer will we be slaves to the rotten and corrupt policies of the Sigil Corporation."
"No longer will we tolerate the yoke of their interference."
"We are not tools to be used and forgotten. This is our land!"
"And together, we will build a better, brighter tomorrow for both the people of Mars and Earth. "
"Under our guidance, humanity will survive and thrive amongst the stars."
"So I ask everyone to take up arms! Raise our banner and fight! Fight for a better future for all mankind!"
"Join me and I swear, I will never neglect you, never exploit you, and I will never betray you!"

Hi Jason, I've been silently stalking your project on twitter just dropping in to wish you the best on your indiegogo campaign as well as on greenlight
A small comment on your gameplay video: the constant fading in/out of the character sprites and the back-and-forth movement make the dialogue scenes unnaturally slow in my opinion. Maybe this is just the rendering/video and the actual time elapsing between the girl speaking with the Captain is much faster. I have some mixed feelings about the placement and word choice in the voice acting present, especially the Admiral's awkward pause in the middle of his "Captain, this routine......... is important" line in the beginning of the video. I also didn't have the patience to sit through 11 waves of enemies (I watched the first two though). A more succinct gameplay video that demonstrates different things (even spliced out of order) might generate more interest in your game.
Also, will there be a demo release for SierraOps at all?

Thank you, I've been working really hard ever since the campaign release.
As for the gameplay vid , it's kinda the fraps making everything laggy , (the perfect sample is at the end part of the trailer where it's smooth again). As for the voice acting, no worries, this is just a presentation/test of the engine, and we will definitely do a better job at the actual campaign/story mode. As for the waves, most of the time a mission can only have 1-3 waves, it's just a minor miscommunication within the team which caused the existence of the eleven waves. I'll take your advice on making another appropriate trailer, I might have someone from the voice acting team to narrate it.
As for the demo, we're finalizing the public copy, I know it's been a while but I don't want everyone to be confused with the way the battle system works. It's just really that technical to explain.

Re: Sierra Ops[Sci-Fi] 2/23/2014 - IndieGogo Final 48 hours!
Salutations,
We're now at the final 5 days of the IndieGogo campaign, and it's the last chance for you, or your original character to make a cameo appearance in game as part of the crew, or as an allied/enemy ship captain! We have reached the funding goal and just a few more we'll reach the stretch goal. Help make us reach it everyone!
